She misses him when he’s gone. There’s pencils stuck in the ceiling and the room doesn’t have the same feeling when he’s not in it.

Every morning she comes in, she expects him to be there. But he’s not and more often than she’d like to admit, she’s actually confused by his absence. Then, it settles in that he hasn’t been there in quite a while. And he may never be back.

For some time, she leaves everything just the way it was in some strange hope that he’ll return sooner if nothing changes. However, the days turn into weeks turn into months and the world is changing, she’s changing with a baby growing inside of her.

Everything’s moving on without him and she has no choice but to get swept up in it. And no matter how hard she tries to stay positive, tries to believe that he’ll return just fine, she can’t shake the feelings deep inside her.

The office seems empty without him.
