Usually no, I don't have an ending in mind. I mean, I may know that I want it to end on a happy note or a sad one. Or that I want to include something later, but I usually don't come up with an ending until I'm halfway or almost all the way through the fic.

AU Fic. I'm a fan. I mean, I don't usually read fanfiction, but I'm a supporter of anyone doing whatever they like. I may not read, say slash fic or something, but if someone wants to write, go for it! Same with AU. I will read it if I'm really interested in it, but like I said, I don't usually read fic.

As for writing AU, I never used to do it. I mean, in my WAY early fic days when I was writing Charmed fanfic, I went AU, but when I got into House, I tried to keep things strictly canon and would only happen in canon. I mean, for the most part.

But then I guess I got bored of that and went into AU fic. I like writing it because I like seeing how the characters would act in completely different worlds/settings/environments/whatever. I think it's fascinating. And if someone could write an AU that is fascinating to me, I would definitely read it.
