Welcome Back~
Wow, it's been a few months since I've written anything on Livejournal~ Part of that is because of what I wrote about in the last public bit: for half of November, I didn't have a personal computer due to the stupid adapter getting shot and in December we went to the Philippines. On top of that I had to reorder another adapter because the one that came in that was like the one I bought before was also shorted. I bought one that they said was OEM, so it should last longer than one or two years~ Hopefully the computer will as well~~~ The other part of why I never wrote is because I wanted to do the breakdown on the Philippines. I brought the Android with me and used that as my journal, though very sparingly.
Anyway, let's clean up the phones of stuff from the last year and even some from this year:
Rice prices: Unless you want a big bag from an Asian store, your best bet is the bulk rice from Sprouts. I suddenly decided I really really hated long grain rice when I came back and was pricing like crazy. The cheapest rice goes for is 1$/#, but if you get it on sale at an Asian store, you can go below that though not by that much. 1$/# is the price for Sprouts bulk rice if you don't want to travel too far~
Peanut butter prices: My sister wanted no salt, all natural peanut butter. It's actually sort of difficult to find ones without salt, and sometimes even without a different oil or without sugar. Trader Joe's has a 1# jar for 2.50$ which was the cheapest that I found. I saw one jar that was one pound for just under 8$ and one that was below a pound for 8$.
Basketball: Just a couple guys from some random game: New Orleans Jazz #20, Gordon Hayward. T'Wolves #10, Chase Budinger. They were hot during the game at least~
Music: I started listening to MTV Tres in earnest, since Super Estrella changed their format in the morning and sounds more like the less pop stations. I downloaded a few songs onto the phone for the Philippines, but yeah, I have a big ol' list that I want to link out to Youtube at some point...
PHILIPPINES TRIP Observations
In LAX, there were a non-profit (?) called One Sight that was going to Taipei with us. They also transferred in Taipei, but I'm not sure where they went. They were at least not on our flight to the Philippines.
I had my usual thoughts on gays and the religions in the Philippines. It's always jarring to see someone in something explicitly religious who just pings the old gaydar like fuck. The Agripai (sp?) church is more accepting, but the Roman Catholic Church has way more power in the Philippines. I'm interested in how quickly the fight for rights will progress over there. But yeah, some of the same cues that ping gaydar in the US don't translate to the Philippines, so there's always that.
I think that I viewed some "high domination" pornography or it was just on my mind at the time. It's not difficult when there's a decent segment of porn that body shames the more apparently receptive partner. At the same time, a lot of that sort of thing seems to come from the United States. I wondered if American body shame and lack of non-sexual nudity contributed to that.
I don't remember who I saw with a scarf on, but yeah, I really need to find that sort of neck cover that I saw before. I think I'd have a better chance in Rustan's or even Davao.
I need to meet more people in general. I'm still of the opinion that I really just want a playmate: someone who'll just enjoy and be enjoyed. It doesn't really have to be sexual though from a psychology standpoint, I probably have a metric fuckton of issues.
The more exotic extracts were less than a dollar in Kalibo at Gaisano. So I picked up melon, pineapple and langka. In the states they're a few dollars each (<3$) and I only saw them at that one Seafood City once. They weren't there the next time that I went there.
I dropped the phone because of the dogs and it screwed up the date and time to the 80s or so! I ended up going to kabayhan and fixing it by going on their wi-fi.
For some reason, I thought of the age gap revulsion, probably due to the Fry wedding. I still think that it's a vestige of heterosexual norms where not breeding is seen as anomalous and worthy of social prejudice. The soft ways of enforcing it are things like "you don't have anything in common" and bringing up the age difference. But yeah, gays resorted to aping hetero power structures rather than going for that equality star, what with the many dismissive thoughts on persons being penetrated.
I blue balled myself and when it's severe, I have abdominal pain. I do know the kind of stimulation I like at least, what with the shower heads in Japan and the Philippines.
On Christmas, I again pondered about how many of the gays in the family would have become religious workers had we been born a generation earlier and how many who are in the religions are just in retreat.
I believe that I saw more male-male physical contact than I've seen in a while. For quite a few years, after seeing common male-male physical contact, suddenly it just became super rare. It's slowly coming back at least and I wonder what the catalyst was.
With regard to my porn viewing, I have two huge holes from my trips last year in October and December. Usually I get back on the horse quickly, but for some reason, I just didn't this time.
Moving up north is becoming more real than it was back in October. I really need to get the real estate licensing criteria into my head and start checking them off.
I started using my DS again. It's been a few years... The last saves I transferred were from back in 2012. I finished Hotel Transylvania but had to look at a walkthrough. I finished the tower mode of Yosumin finally after getting stuck on the "sugokeshi x3" stage. I restarted Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Mugen no Frontier. I'm at the beginning of the game again, but it's so hard for me to come in the middle of game and restart it. At least if it's a New Game+ I can, but if it's a first playthrough, it's better to either give up or restart.
