The egg in her arms is cracking, and she's reciting a mantra of:]

Oh no I broke it!

Yes I did it's chipping and cracking!

If I recall correctly, if it is chipping, cracking, and still moving, that means it's ready to hatch.

[machinisthealer]

But I haven't done anything to it! I only got it a short time ago.

[more pieces crack off, and if you look inside, you can probably see some blue and black fur.]

You do not have to do anything to the egg. When it is time, it will just hatch naturally, though they usually tend to hatch faster when with other Pokémon.

I don't have any other pokemon.

[Sob they are too scary]

Well, some Pokémon do hatch quickly... did you keep it warm?

[Nods slowly.] May said I had too..

[RIOLU PAW. PEEKING OUT OF THAT EGG.]

Then you did a good job. Look, it's a new birth.

I.. I don't...

[Almost all the eggshell has been removed by now, and theres only the top half on Riolu's head, blocking its view.]

It's a Riolu, see?

I've never seen one before..

[She hesitantly lifts that eggshell off of Riolu's head annnd-

It snuggles into her chest.]

Ehh.. 'Mommy'?

[She laughs. That's so cute.]

I believe it imprinted, since you were the first person it saw.

But thats--

[INTERRUPTED because Riolu heard that laugh and is now hiding from you, Dawn.]

[She didn't laugh, Riolu. Platinum did not laugh.]
