Sure, the only Pokémon she had with her was her Torchic (who had never been allowed to evolve, sadly) -- but she seemed pretty lonely. She missed Brendan, but it was mostly because he too, understood her predicament

Mijumaru, let's give it all we've got! Use Water Gun! [The little Mijumaru pulls its head back a bit, and then shoots a stream of water straight at the Torchic.]
