[After two long years of searching the nation to no avail, much to the bewilderment of his fellow collectors, Edmond Flamberge had come home - home being the outskirts of Lavaridge Town in Hoenn. And, in a moment of nostalgia, he had decided to explore Mount Chimney (was that entrance still there?). His brown leather bag was almost bursting at the seams with his favorite treat, Lava Cookies that his farmers had regaled him earlier that day to welcome him back from his long, mysterious journey - the forty-something had never ventured outside his estate for such a long period of time before.
And as he carefully treads down the steep slope of Jagged Pass, his faithful Zangoose by his side and his battle sword sheathed at his hip... There it is again, where it has always been - that small, mysterious hill. And the key is...
... The key is somewhere in his bag, but said bag is so full of Lava Cookies, finding it will require both hands and more than a little concentration.
As the tall, haggard man rummages through his bag, he's too busy to notice that the scenery around him and his Pokémon changes - the steep slope suddenly mutates into the much friendlier landscape of the CMA. The Zangoose tries to warn him with a cry and a nudge, but the blue-haired, red-eyed, bespectacled man is too immersed in his action to heed his lifelong friend.
... And almost simultaneously, the man raises his head - he's found it!]
Ah... HERE IT IS!
[And as he triumphantly shouts that, still unaware of his new surroundings he raises his arm in front of himself, proudly holding up his copy of the Magma Emblem. Bravo, Edmond. You have a sword, a bag full of cookies, a vicious-looking Zangoose standing beside you... And now everybody who happens to be in the CMA knows you're with Team Magma.
It's an interesting day.]
