GET A LIFE

Aug 31, 2010 21:48

[Red is way out in Azimuth Plain, fighting off wild Pokemon after wild Pokemon. So far, he hasn't run into anything that could be remotely called a challenge; while his Pokemon are looking tired, it's from boredom rather than fatigue. Still, despite the noticeable heat, he's not taking a single break, sending out one lv. 70-80 Pokemon after another ( Read more... )

[Oh, look who's out and about away from people as usual. It shouldn't surprise Green to find his rival out here during his run with Eevee, but it still kind of does. He slows to a hault when he hears the familiar bleeps of a pokedex]

[...Level 74? Dammit. His team is still mostly in the sixties. Too bad he's not insane enough to train against weak wild Pokemon all day]

... ?

[Red spares a brief glance to Green upon noticing him, then turns back to Venusaur. Yay, another small fraction of a level-up. Level-grinding is pretty much the only thing Red can do nowadays, stuck on an island or not.]

[Yeah, he understands Red not being able to do much else around, but geez, you're pretty boring to watch right now. Eevee finally realizes her trainer is no longer running and stops too, turning around to prance near Green's feet. The least Red could do is wave]

[Red isn't interesting when he's training or battling. Unfortunate but true. Still, noticing that Green is looking a bit annoyed, he looks away from Venusaur. Yes Green what is it this time? Did Timmy fall down a well again?]

[Yeah, and I was the who pushed him down the well, what of it? You bet Green is annoyed; mopey-Red is no fun and Green lives to make fun of you, but that's too easy when you're this miserable. And that's his only reason, honest]

Civilization is over there, genius.

[It doesn't matter that he can't speak; Red's look pretty clearly says that the distance from civilization is a major plus. He looks back at Venusaur, who KO'd that Trapinch several seconds ago, and directs it to the next Sandshrew -- yay respawning! But seriously Green, did you want something?]

[He should've figured, really. At least hiding out in the Plains is better than a frozen hellhole, but still not by much. Eevee's prodding his leg to get their jog started up again; this Red guy isn't as important as her in her mind. Green looks like he wants to say a whole lot more, probably borderline offensive but who cares]

You're pretty pathetic.

[Only reason it's not a frozen hellhole is because Green specifically told him to stay away from snowy places.]

... ...

[Red doesn't show much reaction, but that stings. Yes, yes he is pathetic. Looking back to his training as if that'll make Green go away.]

[Rage is building. The least Red could do is act, retaliate, stick out his tongue, whatever. It reminds Green of when they first started their journeys; no matter what Green said or did, it always felt like Red didn't care enough]

[Oh, Eevee definitely sees that pissed-off glint in his eyes. She tugs on Green's pants leg; stupid boys]

[Red has no reason to act and no voice to retaliate properly with. Let Green become angry. Red used to care. Having a rival, being the best trainer ever, etc., that gave him something to shoot for. He's proven himself once and for all to be better than Green, and he's no longer the best trainer, so there's nothing to bother with.]

[Still ignoring.]

[Unfortunately Green's journey is far from over. Being the best is never enough for him, not to mention his status as the best was terribly short lived, thanks to you]

Don't ignore me!

[You were the one who insulted Red. Why shouldn't he? Still, he's looking back at you. Okay, not ignoring; now what?]

[What indeed? His whole Pokemon journey was centered around you, but he still doesn't have a clue on what to do with you. If Red's lost his drive, what purpose does Green have anymore?]

[He doesn't say anything, stupidly. He's kind of at a loss]

[Somehow, seeing Green like that makes Red feel a little better. Misery does love company, and, well... he greatly prefers this to Green calling him out on his failures.]

...

[He motions to Venusaur to stop briefly, so he doesn't have to concentrate at all on the training. Now say something, Green; he's gotten weirdly used to the sound of your voice.]

[Too bad Green doesn't admit that his own attitude is part of the problem here. Red really does bring out the worst in him]

[It's also too bad that he's not going to say everything that's on his mind because that's just girly but he can always work around it - complete with flaily arm motions to get his exasperation across]

You're such a downer and it's damn annoying. So shape up and stop it already.

[Red shrugs almost nonchalantly, glancing back at Venusaur who is awaiting another command. So what? Besides, training isn't moping, and that's what he was doing before Green interrupted.]

[It's one of those occasions where he wouldn't say anything even if he had his voice.]
