No longer MIA..

[It had been a while since Saturn had been out and about. In fact, he was actually locked up in a certain someone’s house for some time recovering from a very nasty attack to his ribs. He had important business to attend to though; otherwise he would have just hid away in Cyrus’ old house until he was better healed. Speaking of which, he actually ( Read more... )

[Unsurprisingly, Charon is out of uniform, though it's not much of a change. The only noticeable difference is that his top is completely black and lacks the Galactic logo.]

Hmm. Searching for the more distressed members of our glorious organization, Saturn?

[Well Saturn isn't really all that happy to see Charon, but he will try to be civil.]

..I am here to give support to those who need it, yes. I am merely making myself available... Though I doubt you need anything from me, so I'm curious why you bothered to come at all.

[Trolling, of course. What other reason would he have to come?]

Mere curiosity. Surely you agree that it was certainly quite the display that Cyrus created. It almost leads one to wonder if he has any possibility of returning...

[He trails off with a sideways glance at Saturn, as though anticipating a response.]

[Okay, you got me there.]

....You're enjoying this, aren't you? [His voice is rather agitated. He doesn't like you, Charon, and it's very obvious.]

Oh, certainly not. Can you not see that I am in an irreversible state of mourning at the loss of our dear leader, just as Jupiter was... ?

[In case the sarcasm in his voice for that little bit wasn't enough, his smirk doesn't waver.]

The dubious probability that Cyrus will return, however, is a very real curiosity.

Save it, old man. I'm not in the mood.

I am hardly jovial in regards to Cyrus's disappearance, Saturn. [Maybe internally he's gleeful, but for the sake of argument, that's being disregarded for now.]

After all, without a leader, surely Team Galactic will stagnate, or perhaps even fall apart? Surely there must have been a plan made in the event that such a disappearance happened.

...You aren't aware..? In the event of Cyrus' disappearance, I am to take over. I was made second in command for a reason, after all.

[He doesn't quite trust Charon's words, but he will leave it alone for now.]

And though I don't have much to work with, I intend to uphold that.

[Charon had been hoping for some sort of confusion, or leaderless chaos that he could take advantage of. The Saturn in his world had paraded being second-in-command frequently, while this one hadn't, so there had been a small chance... but then again, it's not much of a surprise that Cyrus would appoint Saturn to take over in his absence.

A sneer briefly forms upon his face, disappearing as quickly as it comes.]

And just how, precisely, do you intend to lead what remains of Team Galactic, Saturn? The issues that will arise extend beyond the fact that there is little to work with; Jupiter demonstrated signs of lunacy when I last spoke with her, neither variant of Mars has shown themselves since the grand unveiling, and our Grunt force consists of one utterly incompetent girl.

[No such luck, Charon. In fact, it was people like Charon that made Saturn more confident in taking up the role, rather than leave it for Charon to try and snip.]

...Cyrus has dealt with that, and much more on the island and otherwise. There is no saying we can't continue his work as best we can, until the opportunity arises to actually complete it. It might be difficult, but I'm willing to work through the obstacles. Although.. if you the challenge is to much for you, I completely understand...[See that? It's a smirk.]

[WELL I SEE HOW IT IS, THEN, WHIPPERSNAPPER. >:T ]

Hmph. I am hardly incapable of overcoming challenges. I will, however, acknowledge that there may be minor difficulties in continuing Cyrus's plans. For instance, I find it highly doubtful that we will be capable of reconstructing another Red Chain at any time in the near future.

That's perfectly alright. Attempting create the red chain so soon wouldn't be a very good idea anyway, in fact it would be suicidal.

Now I must ask... Was there anything useful left behind on the grounds...? [Saturn still had that machine Cyrus had given him. It might prove useful in the future.]

If by "the grounds" you refer to the area where Cyrus had attempted to create that new world, I cannot say that there was anything of particular use left behind at the time of my departure.

Ah... I see. Very well then.

If your still interested, I'd appreciate it if you would gather as much material or information as you can in regards to our work so we can continue with Cyrus' plans. We might not be doing anything major like what happened recently, but we can work up to that point.

I am not one to carelessly scatter all of our resources and information once it has served its purpose, Saturn. I still hold all the material that came into my possessions, and I will be retrieving the remnants of anything additional materials that remained in our so-called "headquarters".

[Sure, I'm probably more likely to keep this stuff safe for my own purposes than to be of any benefit to Team Galactic if we start going in a direction I don't like, but hey!]

Sorry about the late reply. Seeing a friend in RL I hadn't in a while. galactic_rings September 6 2010, 18:07:35 UTC
Good. I expected no less. [And he actually sound sincere. He knew Cyrus must have kept Charon around for a reason, after all.]

Then I shall contact you when our new meeting place is in order? Bring all the useful information you can.
