[Paul's outside... definitely not at the beach again, but rather in the vast backyard that is part of his brother's daycare center, which has become a bit more crowded all of a sudden. Event aside, Paul... is clearly struggling with something, evident with the utter, perpetual look of defeat and surrender on his face. He's tried to cover this up by being his usual self, of course, but with grief this intense, it can only work for so long before it becomes painfully obvious that there is something seriously wrong with the guy.
... The fact that he is hugging a Drifblim out in the open might be the most telling detail of that. He's distanced himself from the other Pokemon, including his own, just to be alone with the Drifblim.
