*Cresselia stands in the Central Meeting Area, looking up the sky. There's something a little bit... off about her.*

The full moon has fallen into the shadow of the earth.

...it's beautiful~

"Oh, oh my god..."
Rivai had woken up, only to find the eclipse happening.
"Oh, oh god, that, that does things to people, right!?"
The Galactic grunt stepped into the Central Meeting Area, looking bewildered and alarmed.
"It mentally fucks with things, right?!"
He shuddered.
"I felt a rock just fall into my stomach. I swear it. It, it, I feel like I've been removed from myself somehow. Like, like nothing matters, or, or, or, orororor things are just left over from a time before when everything used to mean s-something..."
His face twisted into a terrified expression.
"I've been cast out of the Team. Discarded! Trashed!"
He whirled around for no reason and yelled up at the sky.
"I NEVER NEEDED ANY OF IT! Fine, I'll go get arrested some other way!"
He whirled around again, puffed out his chest, and strutted, but the closer he got to the forest the less confident he became.
Open. He would feel...open if he went in there. Exposed to attack. That's what Galactics did to their ex-members. He was certain of it.

*Cresselia watches Rivai curiously. She'd seen his dreams before - very odd dreams, at that - and watching him act just as odd in reality was actually somewhat... fascinating.*

Rivai gulped and turned around, shuddered again, shook himself all over, and it was when that he saw Cresselia, just barely. He froze, a look of heartbroken terror paralyzing him for a moment.
"You..." he whispered, taking a step back. "Please tell me you're not who I think you are."

He shook his head, took another step back, wishing he had his Pokémon. Was this what their victims felt like, this awful twisting ache of helplessness?

"I know they're here. I know they're watching. Same thing happened to Rownin. The, the rumors. He went to go see his parents again. Just for a night, he said screw the Team. And, and he never came back."
Rivai let out a little scream and buckled to his knees. He really did think she was a Galactic undercover. But at the same time, he...
"Please don't go away."
He enjoyed not being the only one.

*She eyes him, her head tilting to the side. It was kind of an odd sight, seeing somebody usually so - for lack of a better word - crazy acting so paranoid, and very much like a scared child.*

The moon never goes away~.

*She steps closer to him.*

There are times when you may be unable to see it... when it ducks below the horizon as the sun comes up, when it has turned its dark side to us... or when it is merely eclipsed, as it is now~.

But it is always there.

"Okay," he breathed. "Okay, okay, you're the moon."
It still hadn't clicked who he was talking to. When Cresselia took a step forward, he took a step back. His eyes darted around her face, as if searching for something. Rivai's face pinched tight like a fist.

"Not, not Galactic...right? Because, because, I, I know they're here. I've been cast out. Woke up, just knew it. Took long enough, I'd say."
He turned, walked for a moment, turned back, looking very indecisive.
"It's good to have something constant. Something to hold onto while the ground turns to past."
He laughed bitterly and scuffed the grass with his boot.
"Look at it, like pudding! I could eat it if I wished..."
Then he froze for a moment.
"...I just...I just don't know if I'm living anymore! I feel like, like everything is false, everyone is a ghost, all the smiles andthe CHEER!"
Again Rivai whirled around, stalked towards the forest. Shrank back, didn't look at her when he spoke.
"...Why the hell am I telling you this, anyway? No one wants to know the human side of Rivai

... You're unsure if you're living; perhaps you feel if you are merely dreaming~? If all of this - this island, the people on it, the Pokémon, everything - is merely a dream, then it is not one I have fabricated~. Nor my shadow~.

Everything is alive here. You're as alive as I am, and these things you are feeling only make you more alive. More human~. Do not be afraid to let that side of you show, for it lies within every being here~.

"No. This is not a dream. I'm HERE." Rivai turned yet again, pointed an accusing finger at Cresselia, and took a step forward, pointed at the ground.
"I am right here."
Not one she fabrica---oh.
...
Oh. He got it now.
How...odd, talking to the g---no. No, not odd. Here, normal. For here it was normal.
"I uh..."
He let his hand drop to his side.
"I suppose being human isn't a good thing if my mind is the result."
The eclipse was passing now. Rivai was beginning to remember more. His hysteria was fading away.
"But, that dream I had a while ago. The one with Dawn in it, with the meteorites and that vortex of heat, and h-how she said that if Cyrus tried again, how," his voice choked a bit, "how she said that she wasn't sure s, she'd want it to stop next time..."
Rivai shuddered again, feeling cold.
"Was. That...you, Cresselia? Were you making me dream that, or, or was it Darkrai, or...my mind? My mind, that which never dreams?"

Ah...?

*She looked confused for a moment, but then her expression shifted to one of deep thought. She had written a dream for him, once, but it hadn't involved Dawn, or meteorites, or anything like that.*

...no, that was not my work, nor was it my shadow's~. If it was not your mind that created a vision like that, then it must have been some outside force~.

The island is prone to things of that nature, you see~.

*The eclipse may have been starting to pass, but she was definitely still under its influence. After all, the moon was her domain, and anything affecting it had a lasting effect on her.*

He nodded slowly.
"...Okay then," he said. "Okay, then."
Rivai had been having dreams ever since he got to the island, which was very odd, because usually he didn't dream at all.
"All I remember was hearing this music, then I was out. I've been trying to find Dawn, to ask if she remembered the dream. I mean, a lot happened. Not just the world ending, and us dying, but, kind of, I found out a lot of stuff about her, an---..."
Rivai shook his head, frustrated.
"Yes, Cresselia, I know that! This island is spatially unstable, the gizmo I have is testimony to that!"
The Galactic grunt tried to keep his flare of rage contained. "Just, please," he flashed a little snarly smile, "Do you know where Dawn is? I really need to talk to her. It's personal."

*Under normal circumstances, she would've been intimidated by his outburst. But this wasn't normal - she wasn't normal.*

...I'm afraid I have not seen her recently, no~. But should I happen across her, I will, ah, let her know that you're looking for her~.

"....."
He couldn't even say 'thank you.' The eclipse had passed now. He would have commented on Cresselia's odd behavior, had he known her beforehand. The Galactic grunt paused and glanced to the forest surrounding the central meeting area, before looking at Cresselia again, nodding.
"That will help."
Rivai departed without another gesture.

[OOC: I figured an ending was in store. Hope you had fun with this little role-play.]

*She simply watched him go, waiting until he was completely out of sight before turning to look up at the moon again, which was growing brighter with each passing minute.*

(( ooc; Mm, I did~ It was interesting to see a different side of Rivai. 83 ))
