[He looks up from Flareon, who began...rolling in the grass. And still is.]

((Went a little kyaaa //// from the Flareon but quickly snapped out of it from the greeting.))

Ah, hello-- ((that uniform and equipment . . . oh sweet gods.)) --ah! A pokémon ranger!

[Oooh, campfire! Hope you don't mind company, Kellyn, because here comes Marilou.]

This looks nice. Y'mind some company?

Not in the least. You like campfires?

[What, you want her to be dirty? Marilou plops down on the other side of the fire, legs crossed, and she smiles.]

I like campin'. Close 'nough.

That's a mighty fine Onix y'got there.

[The quiet one gets a compliment? Onix gives a low growl in gratitude.]

We've been friends for a few months now. I just met up with him again today, actually. We were in a really heated battle, and Onix here definitely pulled his weight.

[He pats the Rock-type a couple times. The Fire-type, meanwhile, gives an obnoxious "Hmph" and looks in a different direction.]

[I guess you wouldn't mind some extra company. Brb, it's currently in yer bag, eating yer marshmellows.]

[What's...that sound? It almost sounds like...nomming...

Though it takes him a moment to realize what it is, Kellyn jumps to the side about two feet when he sees the Gible directly next to him. Once his heart slows down from racing, he actually laughs a little.]

*Only the Pokémon would understand what Swirl just said, but the fact she just dove into the marshmallow bag gives the humans a clue at what she's saying.*

[...When did the Pachirisu get there, again? In any case, he can't help but laugh.]

My birthday present, actually, from Éclipse. *And he sits down, and removes Swirl out of the bag.* Hey, what did I said about asking permission?

Eclipse gave you that? [Sorta makes him wonder where she got it from. That question might as well wait until he sees her next, though.]

It's just fine in my book. I don't think I could eat another marshmallow, anyway.

[Flareon, however...doesn't approve of the squirrel. She was getting all of the attention, and then this Swirl comes from nowhere and out-cutes her. So she gives the Pachirisu the evil eye. And Kellyn remains completely oblivious to it.]

I didn't mean to miss your birthday. Did you have a good time?

[Kellyn doesn't quite notice. He toys around with the firewood, keeping the flame alive.

The Flareon, however, does realize they're not alone anymore. She casually struts up to Mr. Scizor, trying not to look threatening.]

Yep.

[She doesn't move too much, even when the pincer almost touches her. Still staaaring.

Meanwhile, Kellyn finally hears the talking and turns his head towards it. He raises his eyebrows in surprise, but doesn't make any sound yet.]
