Calling out to Cyrus, Mesprit, the Galactics and whoever else wants to talk to her

Feb 23, 2010 15:56

[The members of Team Galactic on the island may have received a note from Jupiter. It was sent via her Golbat and it's oddly informal, even for her, and it simply asks them to meet her at one of the beaches. Maybe she just wants to talk ( Read more... )

user: g3_jupiter, talk to me

[Charon had decided to take up the note's offer more out of curiosity than anything else. He looks down at Jupiter disdainfully as he approaches.]

Hmph. Rather unlike you to spend your time loafing at the beach, Jupiter.

[She doesn't even look at him. D: ]

Yeah, tell me about it. Sit down, gramps.

... What's been going on?

[He gives another "hmph" as he obliges and sits down cross-legged next to her while maintaining the boundary of personal space.]

To be simultaneously concise and vague, a vast range of incidents have occurred recently. One would imagine that someone as involved in their duties as yourself would have at the very least witnessed one such happening. Unless there is a precise occasion to which you refer...

[Still not looking at him.]

I'm not looking for vague. I want a detailed account of the most recent relevant occurrences, as well as a report on the status of our activity here.

My, my. With all those demands, one might assume you were ordering around a Grunt. If you seek information from a fellow Commander, Jupiter, then surely it would not be impossible for you to be less condescending in your request.

[Heavy sigh.]

... Please?

Very well.

[Charon sighs as well. That was a little less ego-buffing than he would have liked, but it'll have to do.]

There is hardly any event that could be considered relevant, unless you consider the Central Meeting Area of the island being ravaged by an attack and returning back to normal within a week to be of any relevance. Much of the remaining events, save for the occasional report to Cyrus, are rather inane.

As for reports of Team activity, I believe that is a question best posed towards our dear leader for a wider result. I have neither seen nor heard from any of the other Commanders in quite some time, and encounters with even the occasional Grunt are few and far between. Based upon my observations, I am rather inclined to say that Team Galactic's present level of activity is quite low, or possibly even nonexistent.

Hm.

[She remains in silence for a few seconds as the information sinks in.]

"Our dear leader". Say that again. Your tone changed there, and I didn't like it. Not one bit.

Is that so? I cannot possibly fathom how you would find a reference to Cyrus as our dear leader to be at all unfavorable.

[The sarcasm oozing out of his words is practically tangible.]

[Congratulations, you've made her angry. >: She now speaks in a menacing growl.]

... What's the deal with you? Why do we even pay you? Why are you even with us, old-timer?

[This only serves to make his smirk wider.]

The same could be asked of any of you, could it not, Jupiter? However, with all matters considered, perhaps it is no surprise that you would even be required to ask such questions. Fuhyahahaha...

[She spins abruptly to face Charon and grabs him by his clothes. Um... on the plus side, at least she's looking at him now? 8D; ]

And just what do you mean by that?

galactic_geezer February 25 2010, 07:21:21 UTC
[Oh, it's definitely a plus, as is the fact that she seems to be getting angrier with each response. Even if Charon has now been grabbed, Jupiter's reactions are more than enough to spur him on, chuckling darkly all the while.]

I merely insinuate that the great genius Charon was hired as a complement to the sheer strength of the other three Commanders. Nothing at all to grow so riled about.

[She releases him, loosening her grip gradually, but she still eyes him suspiciously. Finally, she smiles.]

If you want to retire, old man, just say so and I'll gladly put you out of business.

While your offer is much appreciated, Jupiter, I unfortunately must decline. Retirement is not even to be considered at this point in time. And besides...

[His smile remains, but his eyes narrow; it is a challenging look that matches the sentiment behind his words.] ... I don't believe our dear leader would be terribly pleased to find that one of his subordinates had taken matters into her own hands without his prior consent.

Humph. And again, I don't like that tone. Show some respect.

[She falls silent and goes back to staring at the sea, sitting with her legs drawn up against her chest. One hand briefly searches blindly inside a black leather bag she's carrying and retrieves something round wrapped inside a napkin. Without looking at him, she holds it out towards Charon.]

This is for your trouble.

[It's a fresh apple. It's not poisoned or anything.]
