[a dare, eh? Giovanni loves those.

...of course, after at least two bad experiences involving approaching people and Pokemon he doesn't recognize, he's not going to get too close. At least, not without backup... so he lets Beedrill out of his Pokeball. Perhaps the noise will wake the girl up...?]

[Chronos (the aforementioned Growlithe) is awake instantly, barking and growling at the Beedrill, though he doesn't move from the girl's lap.

The girl doesn't seem to change at all, until...]

Chronos. Ember.

[The Growlithe fired a small drizzling of fireballs at the Beedrill, hoping to chase it away.]

[Beedrill zips further away from Giovanni, as he really doesn't want his trainer to get caught in a crossfire between him and the Growlithe. He doesn't make a move to counterattack, though; instead, he simply assumes a defensive position.]

I didn't think you'd react so quickly.

[Chronos hops off the girls lap as she moves to stand, kicking her bag up in the air. She catches it before strapping it on her back.]

I'm used to sleeping outdoors; I know danger when I hear it. In any event, if you wanted a battle, all you had to do was ask.

[She crosses her arms, Chronos growling, but merely holding his ground, for now.]

[The Growlithe lets out a bark, the message clear. "Then don't try to sneak up on my friend!" At that moment, the girl suddenly moves, a hand resting on the Growlithe's head.]

Easy, Chronos.

[She lifts her head, opening her eyes and looking to the other girl as the growling ceases.]
