ITP: TECHNICAL MALFUNCTIONS OF THE LULZY KIND

[Now that the mayhem and destruction is over, have a newbie Red wandering around the CMA with a Pokédex in hand. It seems while everything was going on she's noticed that there were a ton of new Pokémon she'd never seen before. And so like any good curious trainer, she's taken it out to look up information on those johto, sinnoh, hoenn new Pokémon

[Ash's pokedex is beeping like crazy - but only when he walks over a certain spot. WHAT WAS GOING ON]

[Hers is ringing and that boy's over there is beeping... Is it because of hers?? IDK LET'S JUST STARE IN THAT DIRECTION AND WONDER ABOUT THIS.]

[silencedtrainer]

[Have a stare right back - he certainly can't ask what's up. His pokedex is beeping like crazy, especially now that he's just standing still. Was it this girl's fault?]

[H-His is still beeping. Is that the Vs Seeker or? Because she just might be placing a hand over one of the pokeballs on her belt.]

[silencedtrainer]

[HE DOESN'T WANT A BATTLE YET HE'S TOO CONFUSED so he
s just gonna walk up and...oh hey it stopped beeping. Uhh...walking back.

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

...his pokedex was definitely broken. Giving it a good shake]

[Oh my god, what are you doing? T-This is so confusing.
Which kind of helps the situation actually. Here, she'll just walk over to you instead. Ignore the ringing from her Pokedex.]

... ... Is... Is that an Item Finder or the Vs Seeker beeping?

[silencedtrainer]

[Ash himself doesn't even know what he's doing okay. Just give him a moment to pull out his notebook and pen to write down his reply.

'Sounds like an Item finder. I think. What's a Vs Seeker?'

He's never heard of it before]

[What? What is this notebook and pen for writing...? She's staring as you're doing that.

But she'll figure out that might be kind of rude after a bit and read your note.]

...Oh. [A pause as she unclips this from her belt and shows it to him.] It gives off beeping noises so that any passing or nearby trainers will know that you want to battle.

[silencedtrainer]

[Oh, was it one of those new pieces of technology? Ash never really kept up with that kind of thing outside of his pokedex so...

Pikachu jumps up onto Ash's shoulder so he can give the pokedex a little poke to turn it on. IT LOOKS INTERESTING]

[trapion]

[FUCK YEAH GAMEVERSE BABY even though hers is probably a bit outdated.

Anyway as soon as Pikachu touches it, it pings to life! But instead of beeping like it's supposed to, it starts playing Pokeflute music; the soft kind that puts Pokemon to sleep.]

[silencedtrainer]

[sadkjsakld He manages to snag Pikachu before the suddenly dozing pokemon hits the ground but still.

WHAT WAS GOING ON.]

[Whoops. She is turning that off quickly! Only not as it switches stations to Oak's Pokémon Talk when she touches that particular button. WHAT THE HELL.]

Sorry, it looks like it's malfunctioning.

[Ash waves it off. Pikachu was just sleeping after all---jumping at the sound of Professor Oak's voice, WHAT IS GOING ON. Taking a step back and...BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP, yeah, looks like there's something in the ground underneath Ash's foot. Who here has a pokemon that knows dig?]

[And since it seems like she can't turn off the Vs Seeker or her Pokedex, the next best thing is to stuff them in her pocket and forget they exist awhile.

But hey, heeeeey. WHY DO YOU BEEP WHEN YOU STEP AWAY FROM HER? Oh, right that Item Finder noise. Looking down and around the ground a bit. Must be something there, right?]

[Looking at the ground, oh hey look there's something black and shiny sticking out there. Gonna give it a couple of tugs. Not budging.
