[A Salamence appears! But there seems to be a man all in blue riding upon it. How curious, we have flown off the map. There is land, in a form of an island. He does not recognise it. However Riley has spotted a body of water there, is it one of Sinnoh's lakes? There seems to be some constructs around it too. Perhaps we are still in Sinnoh.]The pier ( Read more... )

[ Rosetta was wandering around, holding an egg in her arms, with a Camerupt by her side when she spots something flying over head.

Whoa, a Salamence! So cool! And that was nice landing.

She cheerfully approaches Riley while the Camerupt stay behind, not wanting to get close to the pier and water that necessary. ]

I'm guess you're new, huh?

[Well hello strange girl with an egg.]

New? To here? Perhaps. The winds were not fortuitous if I am lost.

[ "Fortuitous"? Uh... well, she can at least try to understand, even if she doesn't. ]

Um, well this island sorta draws people from different places, so it's not really the winds fault. [ Wait wait what is she saying. Why does she have to be so dumb. ]

Ah, it's not the literal wind but a figurative one that has brought me here.

[Riley tips his hat off to Rosetta, no harm in being polite.]

My name is Riley.

Oh, some humans call Tornadus "The Wind", so that's what I sorta thought you were taking about.

[ She shyly brushes part of her hair back when he tips his hat and smiles. ]

I'm Rosetta, nice to meet you.

[He places the hat back on his head and now it's on to business.]

Nice to meet you as well. Are you a resident of this island?

[ Oh good, he didn't noticed her slip up when she said "humans" instead of "people". Or maybe he didn't and just isn't questioning it? Well, no point dwelling on it. ]

Well, I guess so, but I've actually only arrived here about ten days ago. Although, supposedly this is my second time on the island.

Hmm. How curious. Because of its remoteness I thought this was a sacred place yet perhaps this is merely... distant.

[Riley is all purpose ~aura guardian~ and has many dealings with things that don't see what they are. Rosetta's slip up was noted but not acted upon.]

I'm not really an expert on sacred places, but I'm pretty should there would be a shrine or maybe a tower... not a ferris wheel.

[ She giggles and scratches her cheek, but while still keeping a firm grip on her egg. ]

Then again, maybe it could be.

[He looks curiously at the egg she's grasping rather tightly.]

Hm? An egg?

[Riley raised his hand towards her and the egg, but pulled back when he realised his hand was glowing blue. Yes that aura was a tricky thing to control sometimes.]

Ah, apologies.

What was...? [ She doesn't exactly know everything about humans, but she's pretty sure 'glowing blue hands' aren't the norm.

Oh, right her egg. ]

Ah, yes! I'm an apprenticing under a Pokemon Breeder, and raising the Pokemon born from this egg is part of a final test of sorts.

I wish you all the best then Rosetta. To be a breeder is a fine thing indeed.

I actually know the feeling myself. Lucario over here -

[Riley gestures to Lucario, who quickly comes over to stand beside his trainer.]

Was hatched from an egg I took care of day and night as a child.

[Lucario puts its hands together and bows to Rosetta.]

Ah, thank you! [ Rosetta gives a small, but energetic bow. ]

Oh, really? Then the two of you must very close, I'm sort of envious. I hope I'll... be able to form a bond like that. [ Looking down at the egg, she caresses it with a soft smile.

When Lucario bows, she waves nervously in embarrassment. ] T-there's no need to bow.

It is our way of being polite, of being courteous and greeting other trainers.

Lucario and I share quite deep bonds. It is inevitable with -

[He stops himself again, man he was tired because his aura was playing up and now he had looked at Rosetta's aura even though that wasn't his intention. He felt rather... intrusive as his eyes glowed the same blue as his hands earlier. And picked up something different about her. Riley shakes his head and the blue disappears.]

I'm very much sure that you will be able to do so as well.

Well, I guess it isn't too bad... uhh. [ Although it feels a little weird for someone/a Pokemon to bow down for her.

Oh. Okay, she is sure that humans don't have glowing eyes. That's like, a Liepard or Purrloin thing. Wait, staring is kinda rude, isn't it? Better stop. ]

Thank you, that's really nice.

It takes a certain kind to be a Breeder, and you are of a kind-hearted nature. I have no doubts of you being an excellent Breeder.

[Riley is no ordinary human. He really needed to get a grip on himself, but he was just tired. This island was a new experience and even though he was versed in them, owning one himself, a new one was something he needed to get used to.]
