[The Battle Subway may not exist on the island, but there's still the subway car Nobori(or Ingo, either works for him) arrived in outside his house. Now that he's done being a Lampent, Nobori has, out of duty (or perhaps boredom), taken to fixing it up as best he can, which really just means upkeep

[Of course they're free, they came out of nowhere. Though you might have to dig for something good, unless you're okay with rubber ducks.

Nobori notices him after a moment. A strong-and-silent-type, it seems... well, he'll nod a greeting.] Good evening.

[Red nods, comforted a bit by the greeting. Nothing too personal. He'll point to the pile of...random items, as if to ask, 'Is this yours?']

[Another nod.] The Island decided to occupy my time by inserting an assortment of things into the car.

[And then, because you look curious...] You're welcome to go through it, if you'd like.

[Red nods politely, hiding his excitement. FREE THINGS.

He'll immediately start rummaging, looking for anything...well, if not useful, then at least interesting. Chipped coffee mugs, a dented piccolo trumpet - is than an unopened box of chocolates? Gotta be at least a few years old...]

[Oh dear... At least it's unopened. Still, he wouldn't recommend trying one. Don't Trust the Island. but you learned that with the cupcakes right?

After a moment or two, he gestures to a specific heap.] You seem to be a Trainer... that pile is specifically items tailored to Trainers, if you have any interest in that.

[It seems to have TMs, all manner of pokéballs, things like silk scarves, blackglasses... the works.]
