[Astrid's never been one to have true expressions of emotion. Most who know her status as 'the marionette' know this well. She's always wondered though about the people who were normal. From that cupcake excursion, she could see quite a few emotions in people's faces. Ones that she wanted to understand, in a sense...
Thus, Astrid is right in the

[Not that anyone could ever read his handwriting, but that's another matter entirely. Sharpedo, on the other hand, seems more antsy than his trainer and is moving back and forth in the bushes, getting shushed every once in awhile by his trainer. He doesn't seem pleased that they're just sitting there and not attacking.]
[It seems Archie's talking to the shark Pokemon, or at least thinking aloud.] ...Never seen somethin' like this before. Flyin'-Type obviously, probably Water-Type too... I do need a Pokemon that can fly... Doubt that thing could do it, but maybe it evolves? [Sharpedo makes a low growl that Archie seems to take for an answer.] No way I'm gonna tell unless we try it, right? So, which one? [The Sharpedo seems to brighten up immediately at that.] Go get, 'em!
[And with that, the shark launches out of the bushes like a - pardon the pun - torpedo, immediately startling the Duckletts into flying away and squawking, making quite the racket. Sharpedo chases them around merrily for a moment before finally catching one in his jaws and bringing it back to his trainer.]
There we go! Let's see here...
[There is something fundamentally wrong with this duck though...]

[It's a fucking pink duck.]
[What. The. Hell.]
Reply
...Is that...]
Ah, sir. That is not the normal color of Ducklett... [Here she thought Serperior was the only oddly colored one! Swanna will be coming forward, cocking her head towards the young one...is he alright?]

I didn't think so. [The other ones were blue. Blue was an okay color. Blue was perfectly fine. Pink? Not so much.]
[That little Ducklett wiggles a bit and Sharpedo carefully sets him down. Instead of flying off like any smart Pokemon would, this one seems quite content to quack at the Swanna in a greeting. Apparently he's found a trainer, and he's also apparently been looking for one. Sharpedo's expression slowly changes to match his trainer's. This is not what he expected either.]
So, uh. Why is it different colored? [And the thing - the pink duck thing - is now waltzing around his feet like it owns him and oh dear Kyogre, there is no way this thing actually likes him. And now he'll never be able to get rid of it dammit.]

I'm afraid I'm not completely sure on that. It may be the same thing that my Serperior has... [With a few gentle pets from her sleeve, Serperior slithers out of Astrid's sleeve and looks around. What'd he miss?]
It may be a recessive trait that all Pokemon have, if I am correct to assume.

Your what now?

So you're sayin' it's pretty rare, then? [Maybe he can sell it to Team Rocket. Let them have a pink duck. They're the ones after rare Pokemon, right? Yeah, that would be Team Rocket. Galactic's the group that's into cosmic energy or some crap like that.]

[Hmm, Swanna sees! She feels bad for the little darling though. >: It'll lead to Swanna eyeing Archie carefully...while still talking kindly to the little one.
Serperior on the other hand now has it's head up pridefully. Hmph...who could these idiots be? We have no time for them...]

[Sharpedo will just be eying her back, not even taking notice of the snake until it moves in his periphrial vision. He starts a bit and debates looking back and forth between the two cautiously. He's not very good at this sort of thing.]
[Ducklett either doesn't notice or doesn't care that Swanna is eying his new trainer warily, he continues on, completely oblivious to his trainer and fellow Pokemon's discomfort over the situation.]
