[The berry garden hasn't been watered today. It's usually one of the first things Brendan does with his day: collect his pail, and spend five seconds watering each and every plant. [ Tallie has been wandering around Silent Hills for days, just allowing herself to get lost amongst the streets and houses. There is nothing else for her to do, anyway. The music has been echoing in her ears for so long that the sound of Brendan's voice seems so... different.

She stumbles upon him. Literally. She sees herself in Mount Pyre and she's stepping around gravestones, accidentally kicking him in the process. ]

... Brendan. Brendan, Brendan, Brendan.

[berryglitched]

[Physical contact is definitely enough to startle him out of the routine. But, when he looks up, his expression suddenly brightens. It transforms from a mild, out-of-it stare to a smile, an honest smile.] May!

[lockedtrainer]

[ Seeing Brendan smile makes her confused. Why is he smiling? Why? Why? Why? It doesn't make sense, with what she is seeing. She squats down next to him, avoiding looking at that happy expression. ]

How's Sceptile?

[berryglitched]

Sceptile's doing great. W-we're going to take on the Elite Four, soon... [...] D-did you know? I saw Wally in Victory Road. He's gotten... a lot stronger. I'm really happy for him...

[lockedtrainer]

[ Elite Four? But how? She was the one who battled the Elite Four and won. Not him. And Sceptile's dead. She watched Sceptile fall with her own two eyes, watched it breathe its last breath, watched it, almost enjoyed it-- ]

Liar.

[berryglitched]

... w-what?

[lockedtrainer]

You heard me.

[berryglitched]

I-I don't understand... w-what did I say?...

[lockedtrainer]

Sceptile's dead. You have nothing. Nothing at all. I beat them all. Easily.

[berryglitched]

No. No, no, no, Sceptile's still with me. We- we didn't-

[lockedtrainer]

Prove it.

[berryglitched]

[He glances down at the pokéball in front of him, as if just now noticing. He picks it up, casting a now-nervous glance at Tallie. He lets Sceptile out.]

[lockedtrainer]

[ Tallie's face turns pale with fear. Though Sceptile may appear normal to Brendan, she sees a Pokemon that's been dead for quite some time, with an eye missing and flesh torn off and everything else just messed up. She could smell the stench of decay and, in the back of her mind, she's amazed at how well-preserved the Sceptile is.

She's rendered completely speechless, a frantic expression on her face. ]

D-Do you see, May? E-Everything's fine...

[lockedtrainer]

Fine? How is that fine?

[berryglitched]

He's not dead... he's not even hurt... h-he's always been with me, May, always, always...
