[Here's an unusual sight. Wes is seated in the CMA with Umbreon by his side and a Pokémon egg in his lap. Judging by the confused look on his face, he has no idea where the thing came from, or how it ended up in his possession. Every so often, Umbreon sniffs at it.]

No. [How would he know? It was just kind of there when he woke up. Umbreon seems to think it looks tasty.[

Well, whatever it hatches, I'm sure it'll be a great friend for ya!

It's probably a bad egg. Why else would it just be lying around? [And even if it's still good, it's probably something worthless. Cynicism? What's that?]

Hey, don't say that! You got that egg for a reason! It's your responsibility as a trainer to hatch and raise that Pokemon with love and care!

[Ash, do you have any idea who you're talking to? He's only a trainer in the most basic definition of the word.]

Don't you dare try to lecture me about responsibility.

Oh, yeah? What're you gonna do about it, huh? [Even if it's an egg, Ash'll defend any Pokemon's honor!]

[Wes stands, carrying the egg with him. Now towering over Ash, he glares down at him.]

You're just a kid. Don't try to tell me what I should or shouldn't do as a trainer.

I'm 15, for your information, and I'm probably ten times the trainer you are!

And I'm 18, but numbers don't mean a whole lot when you're forced to grow up at six. You're still just a kid. [His Pokémon may not be as strong as Ash's, but that wasn't the point he was trying to prove. He holds up the egg in one hand to show Ash.]

I'm not the best person to task with raising a baby, Pokémon or otherwise.

No, and that's exactly why I know it'll end poorly. [If Yellow was still around, on the other hand, things might be a bit different.]

It's not as hard as you think it's gonna be. I've raised plenty of Pokemon from eggs. [Well, it was more like 3 or 4 but he won't say that.]

It's not even mine. I'm just keeping it warm until its owner reclaims it anyway.
