[The lake is quiet today - several months since it arrived, actually, and there's no sign of it fading. The Ferris wheel, too, is still present; N's interest in this area, if anywhere, is usually drawn there. But it's the middle of March, and the days are getting warmer; he sees no harm in exploring the rest of the area ( Read more... )

guise wtf is going on here?, fuck yeah unova, user: centrifuged, looking kinda cool there, sup guys

[Lugia is new, and today he's decided that he's going to explore the island by flying a little closer to the ground than usual, provided he doesn't meet any ill-intentioned people. After meeting Wally, he just can't wait to meet more humans. Maybe, just maybe there are others who will understand...

... as for Lugia, in all his wisdom, he still isn't sure he can understand them. Hello, giant metal wheel that Lugia almost flies right into. What the hell does this... thing exist for? Humans do really odd things sometimes... and that young man on the grass is just another example. Lugia was still under the impression that people this man's age usually worked or otherwise made themselves useful... Maybe he's on a break?

In any case, giant ocean flying beasts aren't exactly hard to miss, and Lugia knows that this person will notice him eventually.]

[Yes. Yes he will and hello there I am a manchild and what's this

N will just be standing up, if you don't mind; his thoughts are working quickly, he knows what this is, as the Legendary Pokemon of other regions are something he's studied, if only briefly. He's had to work toward memorizing quite a few species since his arrival here, however, and while the library has helped, sometimes names still take a little while to come to mind - ]

...Lugia?

[It sounds right; though he's saying it more to himself, it's still more or less audible.]

[Ah... So the human has noticed him, and he knows his name, too... Except he doesn't seem very... pleased, perhaps. And, according to Lugia, he has every right to feel that way. Lugia now believes that his company isn't wanted, so he faces away from the human, preparing to fly off.]

[Not displeased, just startled. Why on earth would he be displeased - ]

Wait. Please, just wait, if you will.

[Mm? Lugia will spin another 180 degrees in the air - hopefully that doesn't result in him involuntarily whipping up a tornado... oh thank god nothing happened, phew - to face the young man again.]

Yes?

[Hopefully telepathy is okay...?]

[...that's more or less how N rolls with everything, though he's not quite used to the thoughts being put into human terms; he translates through habit now, being accustomed to pokemon and what their voices sound like, and it's always a bit odd to not have to do that - but at the same time, he's definitely not bothered or weirded out by it.]

I would like to talk to you, if you wouldn't mind.

[Lugia examines the young man for a moment, before nodding and descending. He lands gracefully - one would think that the ground would shake horribly when those large feet hit it, but it doesn't in the slightest. And Lugia sits before the human, the Pokémon's chest thrusting out a little in a regal stance that demands respect, but isn't necessarily intimidating. You can talk to him, N.]

[...this is so cool.

N doesn't usually seek out Legendaries, believing them to be best left undisturbed and he has absolutely no interest in capturing and controlling them against their will; however, if one is approaching him then he'll more than enjoy the opportunity to speak to it. He had been taken from his world before he could meet Reshiram and so he has next to no actual experience with Legendaries; hopefully Lugia will be okay with him being a bit...not starstruck, exactly, just rather impressed.]

My name is N...and it's very good to meet you. I'm honored that you would allow me to do so.

I'm Lugia, as you know. It is a pleasure to meet you, too, N.

[Well, Lugia is certainly excited himself. He still hasn't gotten used to the idea that maybe, if he puts enough trust in himself, he can talk to humans normally without either party being in mortal danger.]

Say... can you tell me what that is?

[He nods towards the Ferris wheel.]

[Ah, that - it's only one of the best things ever to exist.]

It's a Ferris wheel; humans ride inside the carts there, for pleasure. It's relaxing.

Ah... I could never do that.

[It will be apparent to N that Lugia isn't really just stating the obvious here: he sounds - and looks - immensely sad as he gazes at the Ferris wheel.]

[He can definitely tell.]

This seems to bother you...might I ask why?

umixnoxkami March 14 2011, 22:54:13 UTC
... I almost flew into it.

You humans make fascinating, wonderful things, and I can only destroy them.

[He makes no big mystery of that, so he has no problem sharing it.]

Human creations are interesting in several ways, yes - but that doesn't make up for what humans themselves are capable of. Any destruction on your part is either understandable or deserved...I can't say the same for human cruelty.

[Whoa, slow down, buddy. No. It's not like that at all.]

There is nothing understandable about the destruction that I cause. I have no intention to harm humans, and yet... it happens.

Your retribution would be just, however - though I don't exactly understand what you mean. Has something happened in your world...?
