ACTION | in the park, afternoon[ There is a gigantic turtle with a tree on its back taking up a clearing in the park. If you wanted to get through... you might have a hard time with that. It seems that Dia is training with his Pokémon, judging from the numerous amount of sharp-edged leaves impaled on hand-made targets around the area. ]

Argh-! [ A tree ruffle can be heard close by to Dia. She's been spying on him, honestly, so have her just thud onto the ground suddenly. She'll jump up quickly, but it's clear she's rather surprised at that level of strength. ]

Ah - ! Were you up there? [ ... ] Are you alright?

I am fine. [ She grunts a bit, clearly painting another picture. After a brief hiss, she looks at Torterra. ]

What was the move it just used? It seemed very different from an expected attack.

[pokeay]

... Um... if you're sure. I keep first-aid stuff in my bag, if you need it, though.

It's a move called Earthquake.

[ So very slowly making her way to Diamond's bag. It's not like she actually needs this or anything. ]

Earthquake? How can its attacks cover such a range?

[ if he sets a few things out, it's not because he did it for her or anything, he just happened to... drop them there... ]

Um... I'm not really sure how it works, honestly. Or how most of his attacks work, now that I think of it...

Other attacks? What other attacks can he do?

[ She drops the first part. She'll learn somehow just by watching him, right? Right?

It's not like she wanted to pick them up or anything. She just dropped, and her hands caught it and refused to let go. Stupid ninja grip. ]

Umm... There's Razor Leaf and Wood Hammer and Giga Drain and Crunch and... a few others, I think. It's kinda hard to remember all of them.

Except crunch, those all sound grass related. Can it only use grass related attacks?

[ Lan Fan looks at it, trying to gauge its strength. Maybe she can train against or with it. ]

Um... Wig can use Grass-type and Ground-type attacks, mostly.

There are other types that are not grass or ground?

[pokeay]

Yep! There's... seventeen of them, I think?

That seems really varied. They could do almost anything.

[ She cautiously approaches Torterra and she tries to inspect it from all angles. ]

Yeah, Pokémon are really amazing... they can do all sorts of things that humans can't. That's why we have to take care of them and train them well.

[ the Torterra does not seem to mind this inspection, although it will twist its head curiously to get a better look at her, too. ]

I don't think I know anyone that can make an earthquake, but, train them? Are they not strong enough on their own already? [ slowly reaching out her hand.

Hmm... it's true that they're already really strong, but I think... for them to be able to use all of their strength, they need help figuring out how to do that. So it's a mutual kind of partnership.

[ is it going to get headpets - ?! That would make it oh-so happy. ]
