This Christmas was seemingly less Christmassy than previous Christmases, but a joyus Christmas none the less. Remember the good ol' days when it seemed like FOREVER until break began? And then break would start, and it would seem like FOREVER until Christmas? And then Christmas would be over, New Year's day would smack you in the face, and 3 seconds later you were back in your desk, praying for spring break? To me, that is Christmas! All the anticipation and excitement, and then everything falls back to normal.
But ever since college...
Your anticipation is forced to come early, we'll say beginning of November. In the beginning of November is when you realize how many classes you've missed, and that finals are coming, and that you should really go to class everyday for the next 5 weeks...and then you hit the snooze button-again. When you do go to class, your teachers are already speaking of "break" and the break they are referring to it Thanksgiving break...HAH. Not so much a break as a long weekend, but hey. So you figure, okay, Thanksgiving break is when I'll start studying for finals. Thanksgiving comes around and you spend a quarter of the weekend eating, half of the weekend working, and the last quarter sleeping. No studying has been done, but it will be okay right?
Wrong.
The week after break moves so fast and there is no time to get everything done. Next thing you know, its final time, and you stay awake for 3 days cramming everything you've learned in your 5 classes this semester into your little head. You take your finals, you do okay, and then you sleep. Now beings the actual break...winter break. Where we college kids have a MONTH to do whatever we want...which usually consists of working and sleeping.
This is where it all changes. We have a month to wait for Christmas. And before we reach Christmas the anticipation of it all has died. We decorate the tree...when we can find time. We shop for presents...when we have time. We go to church...if we have time. And its odd that the more time they give us, the less time you feel you have. Now Christmas has come and gone...and I still have over 2 weeks till school starts. It just feels so backward.
Maybe that's just me.
The boyfriend got me an iPod for Christmas...I'm spoiled :)
