"I... I'm not really sure how to explain it."
N shifted uncomfortably on the bench, his hands gripping the edge of the it. Touya watched him squirm, and propped his chin in his hand, watching him.
"Then try your best." He said quietly.
N looked up tentatively. "Whenever I'm around you, I... I get this feeling. It's a warm feeling... usually I feel it here." He placed a hand on his stomach, breaking eye contact with the other boy.
Touya raised his eyebrows, the cogs in his mind now working a mile a minute. It was true N lacked skills when it came to expressing how he felt, but was he really trying to say...?
Touya felt his own stomach stir, and he was soon looking down at the ground as well.
"Uh... some people might call that a 'crush'." Touya said, sure his face was bright red.
"What's a crush? Is it like a Pokémon move?" N asked, clasping his hands together, seemingly desperate for something to do with them.
Touya laughed. When he saw N staring evenly at him, confused, he stopped and cleared his throat.
"It's this feeling someone gets for someone else... where they, more than just 'like' them... but not quite 'love' them. Does that make any sense?"
N shook his head, looking lost still.
Touya made a face, thinking of what he should do. He looked up at N, and met his eyes again.
"Maybe I should show you instead."
Touya slid a hand over and let it brush against N's, but N flinched his hand away. For a moment, Touya felt his stomach sink, but then N's fingers were against his again, careful and gentle.
N was looking at him still, shyly, but a little smile curled his mouth, and Touya took it as a cue to continue.
He leaned over, into N's space, and he felt him move back a little, instinctually; so Touya reached over and slid an arm around his shoulders, pulling him closer.
He felt him tense up and inhale sharply. "What...?"
"Shhh," Touya whispered, and brought his face closer to N's, and he could see the curiousity - and the want - in his eyes, and the curve of his mouth -
And it was going just like N had always imagined it would, until he heard the click of teeth hitting against each other, and pain shot through his mouth.
"Mmph," He pulled back and covered his mouth with a hand, blushing furiously as his teeth rang with the impact.
Touya mimicked his gesture, but instead of looking embarassed, he laughed instead.
"Sorry," N said, but Touya shook his head.
"It's fine," He said, leaning close again. "Really. We have all the time in the world to get good at this."

But they didn't have all the time in the world.
Because N left Touya standing on the top of the castle, on Reshiram's back, and Touya watched him until he was a speck in the distance, not wanting to believe he had really left.

Touya would know that voice anywhere, and he spun around as if he'd been shocked. And there he was, standing there in the middle of the dirt road.
He'd changed. He looked older, broader; and his hair was shorter. He was wearing different clothes, dark and flowing.
And the look on his face; that was what rendered him speechless.
His head was tilted back and he was grinning, and his eyes were drawn, and Touya had many ways to describe the look, but the only word that he could come up with at the moment was, intense.
N went to Touya, and placed his hand on the side of his face. "I've missed you," He said, still keeping his eyes fixed on his friend's.
Touya realized his mouth was still open, so he closed it. He looked at him, and he wanted to embrace him, wanted to pick up where they left off...
But instead his arm went back and his fist connected with N's nose.
"Ow! Hey!" N cried, rearing back, hands flying to his nose. He checked to make sure it wasn't bleeding, then raised his eyebrows at Touya. "What the hell was that for?"
Touya took a deep breath, clenching his fists. "You... you left me." He managed to say.
He expected N to run, but he didn't, instead he closed the gap between them once again, and without warning pressed his mouth against Touya's, and the kiss took his breath away.
Touya had never received a kiss like this before, the way hs mouth moved against his, slightly nipping but without pain, the way N's hands wrapped around him and where he put his hands.
Touya was still speechless when they pulled apart, his lips in a forever parted state.
N smiled crookedly. "Please forgive me."
Touya blinked, and shook his head. "I will if you tell me where you learned to do that."
N laughed. "I had all the time in the world." He said.
