Not spoiler: The Dark Knight (especially on imax) is FUCKING AWESOME
Spoilers: OKAY SO I have never read Batman comics; the only Joker representation I know is the one from the animated series and it's been like ten years since I last saw it. BUT THAT SAID. HOLY FUCK HEATH LEDGER. (rest in peace, man ;;) I just. I was completely awed by his performance. Anytime he was onscreen and threatening people or just talking dramatically or whatever, I had my hands around my face (especially with the scar stories lol me) and my thought process was just What is he going to do next?! Or rather, in what manner is he going to accomplish this? And yeah, I completely cracked up at the nurse outfit, but he still managed to be, well, threatening even when skipping out the door. And then the detonator didn't quite work. O, macabre humor.
...... okay I may be the only person in the world to say this, but I admit I was not expecting Two-Face's 'villainous' aspect to come into play and then leave so quickly. Probably because I religiously stayed away from spoilers and was expecting him to, like, be one of The Villains in the next installment. I WAS ALWAYS INTRIGUED BY HIM IN THE TV SERIES boo his career was short-lived.
GORDON YOUR RETURN WAS FUCKING BADASS I knew he couldn't really be dead, because he wasn't ... commissioner ... yet.
I am thoroughly amazed at how the Joker orchestrated everything. Those sort of complicated, intricate plots always interest me... perhaps this is why I have such a fascination with ball machines.
