FOOOOODSCAPADE

I always start off with the usual "sorry for the hiatus" or "sorry for not updating in so long" kind of thing so I shan't do that this time round but you get the idea. I have a few excuses for the lack of updates this time.

1) Busy with work.
2) Hardly any new pictures.
3) No motivation to blog.

I took over form teachership for about a week and a half because the form teacher was on MC and it was a terribly busy but amazing experience. I loved every single second of it :) It's like having 40 of my own kids and it's really fun. Although I think if I really had 40 kids 24/7 I'd die.

And because Rui's busy studying for exams and I was so busy with work, I didn't have much time to go out and take new pictures. This also leads me to my next point - the lack of motivation to blog. Whenever I don't have new photos to post, I think people won't actually bother reading so I don't bother updating. And as much as I say that I blog for myself, it's kinda boring to blog if nobody reads.

18 March 2011 - Lunch at Private Affairs at Joo Chiat

Halfway through our appetizers, there was a blackout! (Which is also why the pictures after that are darker.) And it lasted throughout our entire meal. They gave us candles so it became a candlelight lunch and it was alright but really hot because the aircon was off too :( They were really nice about it though - they offered us a discount off our meal so it ended up being really cheap! But we felt bad because it wasn't their fault so we gave them a bigger tip.

Foodwise, I liked the appetizers! The main course and desserts were.. nothing great. Rui didn't like the food at all but I wouldn't mind going back if anyone is willing to go with me! Rui says he'll never go back again except maybe to try their Sunday brunch which sounds good!!

25 March 2011 - (Restaurant Week) Dinner at BLU

Everything was super yummmmy! I'll definitely go back again.. some day. I really liked the Eggs Come First dessert. The presentation was so adorable and it tasted good too :) Oh and we had the candy floss tree as well. The soil thing wasn't very nice but the candy floss and chocolate stuff were nice!

Oh and we made it in time to see the sunset :)

26 March 2011 - Lunch at Buko Nero

We were supposed to go to LPDV for lunch but we decided to try booking Buko Nero because Rui's never been and the last time I went was really long ago. We didn't think we'd get a seat though because their waiting list is rumoured to be one month long. But we decided to give it a try anyway so we just added ourselves to the waiting list.

About one-two days before the actual day, they called to say that they had a space! So we quickly took it and cancelled our LPDV reservation.

And........ we weren't disappointed one bit :)

From the food to the service, everything was excellent!

I think my only criticism would have to be that they didn't allow us to take photos. I don't get why restaurants do that - like Tippling Club (although I did sneak shots of it using my phone). I mean.. isn't that good publicity? I hate it when restaurants don't put photos or their menu or don't have a website - then you don't even know what to expect and it just.. deters me from thinking of going there.

I only managed to snap a shot of the bread (which was also very delicious) before I was told that they had a no-photo policy :(

Oh and here's a cute poem I chanced upon in a P1 class today.

I love my mummy
I came out from her tummy
Her food is very yummy
She is very scrummy
I love my mummy

hahahahah how cute.
