On occassion I like to go back to old posts and see just how different I am and...wow. I am really different than I was a few years ago.
I was reading my meeting Orlando Bloom and Ewan stories. Hilarious stories, to be sure, but...back then if I hadn't met them I would've sunk into a fit of depression for WEEKS! (see: the first time trying to me Orlando Bloom).
I used to have a new celeb/fictional/actor crush every few months, I did! And I used to be so loyal to the ones I already had. Nowadays... even the list of 5 guys I settled on I am not as proactive about watching them in stuff. For example.........
1. Ewan - was in The Men Who Stare at Goats - which I still want to see and will see, but I was much too lazy and cheap to do so in the theatre. :P But, I still like Ewan best of all and so of course I'll watch it at some point (and, at least, his portions of Amelia)
2. Orlando Bloom - He's actually my whole reason for this post because I just saw something about his model girlfriend online and it STILL shocks and baffles me that I didn't even know he had a girlfriend until about a year after they got together. Clearly, I changed big time from my celeb-obsessed ways.... :o (I think he and his gf got together in early 2008... I'm gonna chalk their getting together up to the fact that he realised he'd lost his chance with ME and needed to find some other young'un girlfriend - seriously...she's only 3 years older than me, so that MUST be it. :P)
3. Michael Rosenbaum - He left Smallville, he lost me. :P I do miss Lex sometimes, but then I go to rewatch old eps and...Lana just taints everything and ups the cheese factor hugely.
4. James Franco - is on General Hospital - meaning, in my old fan-girly days, I'd have been going through extreme bouts of pleasure-overload because I could watch him almost EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!!!! Instead I watched the first ep when he came (he did look smokin' that day, for sures)...and then sporadically, but... that requires watching GH and...I'd much rather not do that. :P
5. Paul Bettany - OKAY of ALL of them, he's the one who I seem most inclined to actually watch stuff of this year just because of the sheer NUMBER of films this guy's making. It's CRAZY. He has FOUR MOVIES out this year. Legion came out Friday, and I would like to see it...but, again, it's not like I waited with great anticipation for it and rushed off on opening weekend... hell, I can watch it on dvd or online and that'll do. Same with The Young Victoria and Priest - that one I was interested in because it had to do with vampires too, but then I read the synopsis and there's some young'un guy who's in it too and...I dunno, it got cheesed up in my head. Either way, good for Paul Bettany, making sure I don't forget his existence.
All in all... my crushes have diminished to near non-existent levels. Ewan has been relegated to his rightful place as my favourite actor (along side his hat-wearing counterpart on my layout, Buster Keaton) - though, come on, let's be fair - Ewan's Ewan and he'll always be #1. Alls he has to do is smile or laugh or talk or sing or....just stand there, really....haha!
BUT If I were to say I have a crush on anyone, though it isn't really a 'crush' so much as the need for a drool bucket, it is that magnificent man-wall...Mr. Tom Welling.
Sigh.
Here's hoping my dream from the other night about watching Smallville and Clark being in the rain continues tonight.....yes.
Alright, I should sleep. I was going to make myself a CD for my car and read my book and I ended up doing this instead! Dang laptop...I always end up not doing what I meant to and wasting time!
