Now that I've given Dinithi her wand...
I can freely post pics of my wand!
Okay, so back-story: won the HP contest on facebook. Got myself a wand, but I also got a wand for my best friend (Dinithi). She has been such a trooper, trying to get me into HP for almost 10 years.
I was always me spiteful self, though and never would read the books. But then, finally, I gave in and here I am, big, huge contest-winning HP fan. I thought it unfair that I have a wand and Dinithi not have one, since she's the bigger HP fan, so I used some of my contest winningses to get her this........
I got her Hermione's wand. My original intention was to get her Ron's wand (because Dinithi loves Ron as much as I love Severus) BUT... Ron's wand looked really ugly in the pics. And I thought, if it's ugly in pics, it's probably not nice in person!
Thus, as I wrote in the little card, as the future Mrs. Ron Weasley I thought it appropriate she have the wand of the current Mrs. Ron Weasley. :P

In addition to getting this for Dinithi, I ordered this set of 5 pins - one for each Hogwarts house and one of the Hogwarts crest. I am contemplating giving this to Momin, as he was the second of the double-whammy of HP fans who kept telling me to read the books! I figure it only appropriate that they both benefit from my winnings. :) (The reason I am "contemplating" giving them is because I really like them myself :P and who knows when the next time I'll see Momin will be!)
Is it a coincidence that the Slytherin one keeps falling out and trying to escape??

1. I'm giving my mini-speech about how I won the contest and felt that there was someone more deserving of a wand than I am. Dinithi... wasn't even paying attention, trying to put her All Protector Spray away :P
2. Dinithi was happy with the wand and I got a hug! This is indeed a big deal because me and Dinithi never hug (we hug more now than when we were younger, but seriously... we rarely ever hug. The only other time I think we did in recent years (other than in some pics) was when I gave her the Gryffindor Scarf. Gooo HP, bringing best friends together! :P)
3. Dinithi opening the box and seeing which wand she got - I do hope you're not disappointed that it's not actually Ron's, but believe me, Hermione's was prettier!
