Anyway, this is pre-boot Kon, because I am not reading his current series or Teen Titans because please. (Though I am tempted to check out the most recent issue of his current series because KARA. *___*)
1. He is genuinely vain and cocky and self-impressed. I hate it when people write smug characters as secretly all humble and self-effacing (see also: Booster, James). Like, it's obviously a front to hide his insecurities from everyone including himself ("Yep, I'm pretty great, I'm just like Superman, OH GOD I WILL NEVER BE LIKE SUPERMAN"), but he does genuinely think he is the total shit.
2. He worships Martha. He's had a surplus of father figures (DUBBILEX ;_;), but she's basically the only mother figure he's ever had, and in his eyes she can do no wrong. HE WILL HOLD HER SKEINS OF YARN WHILE SHE WINDS THEM INTO BALLS FOREVER.
3. He never talks about Hawaii or Tana. It's too hard. He also doesn't really keep in touch with Roxy, but every so often she shows up and it's like no time has passed between them at all. (mizzmarvel and I have plotted a whole sequence where Roxy comes to visit and Kara's like "Who's this?" and Kon's like "Oh, Roxy's my best friend! She's like my sister" and Kara's like ...*JEALOUSY EXPLOSION*)
4. He wishes he knew more about Krypton, but he doesn't know how to ask. He worries a lot about whether Jor-El and Lara would have liked him. (It's too bad he never mentions this to Clark, because Clark has a lot of the same worries, and they could bond over it. But they have very, very poor communication.)
5. He will always refer to Tim as his best friend, but even though they have a very intense and important relationship, they don't really hang out that much recreationally. I mean, Bart is right there in Kansas and much more fun to be reckless and stupid with! (Also, in my head Kara is actually the first person he goes to for most things and the person who knows him best and vice versa, even though she always says Steph and Cassie are her best friends. But ew, she's not his friend, she's just his stupid cousinsister, girls are gross. Except for the ones who aren't related to him, because hello ladies. *wink*)
JLI Boy Band is so much fun to plot (JAILBAIT BOOSTER YESSS) and such a pain in the ass to write. :/
