Notes: Really, you didn't see this coming? I asked mizzmarvel for a prompt and she said "Drake loves bananas." And, well, he does!
Drake loves bananas.
Josh knows this because whenever he does the grocery shopping (somehow it’s always him, even though doing the grocery shopping was part of the deal when Dad helped them pay for the car they both use) he buys several bunches of bananas, and yet every time he heads into the kitchen for a little potassium hit all he finds is pears.
Josh knows this because whenever he cleans their room (which is definitely always him, and he has no idea how Drake lived in such squalor before Josh came along) he finds banana peels in various stages of grossness draped over lamps, shoved into bookshelves, stuck to the walls, even in Drake’s bed. He removes them with rubber gloves and scrubs the area he found them in and hopes that no new colonies of bugs have decided to make their home in the new banana republic.
Josh knows this because he’s watched Drake eat them, slender fingers callused from guitar strings curving around the slim yellow fruit, that small perfect mouth stretching around the white flesh, the occasional pink flash of tongue. For a guy who normally wolfs down his food like he hasn’t eaten in days, Drake takes a surprisingly long time with bananas, brown eyes meeting Josh’s over the curved column of fruit and speaking wordless volumes of mischief and promises. He usually doesn’t get to finish before Josh pounces on him, and when they kiss there’s that familiar mellow sunshine taste all along the inside of Drake’s mouth.
