So, it's been forever...
And I'm getting around to posting. As per usual, I don't know how often I'll really be on here doing this. I haven't really had time to get on the internet to do much of anything, much less make lj posts.
I'm in school, working on my English Ed. degree. I have four minors: Studio Art, American Indian Studies, Women's Studies, and Creative Writing. I am doing an internship at the Empowerment Center on campus. I feel really accomplished and like I'm doing important stuff...I just never have time to do anything because I'm so busy. I'm taking a full load of credits this quarter and I also have a part-time job (in addition to the unpaid internship). I'm going to try to apply for a full-time job in addition to all of this next quarter (that's right, part-time job, full-time job, internship, and full-time student status, woot!).
A friend and I also began looking into starting our own business last quarter. We know what we want, we just need the money, time, and additional resources to be able to do it. We had a guy working on it for us, but he continually lied to our investors (which promised us over $200k, but want to wait one to four years before signing a contract and paying out). So we want to see about getting government funding. Unfortunately, two twenty-five year old women with lots of student loan debt and absolutely no collateral don't really have a good chance in getting business loans. We're trying to see about government grants, but I don't know if that'll work out. Not to mention that this takes extra time out of our schedules that we can't really afford to take right now. I don't know if this will ever get off the ground, but I really want it to happen, sooner rather than later, before someone steals our idea and we're completely screwed.
Now comes my pathetic bid- I know no one reads this thing, but I have a donation link on my user info page. Any and all donations are welcome. $1, $5, etc. Maybe we could get this thing off the ground in the next few years?
