Just as Kasai handed off a pile of freshly cleaned dishes, another dirty stack was added to the endless pile. Kasai stared distastefully at the pile before taking a few cups off the top and beginning to wash them. The work was tedious, but it was expected from a place like this ( Read more... )

Amanda walked into the izakaya, yawning a bit. She didn't feel like cooking, so she decided to go out to eat. She waited for a host or server to show her where she could sit, tapping her foot a bit impatiently.

Kasai was tying his serving apron in the back as he approached Amanda. "Non-drinking, I suppose?" he added after greeting her politely. It took him a moment to actually recognize her as someone that attended his school. Unintentially, he felt his face redden. This wasn't exactly the place you'd expect a teenager to work since often times the hosts were expected to drink with the customers.

Amanda blinked as she recognised Kasai. She then grinned as she noticed his face reddening. "Your face is all red!" she announced it in a similar way to a child, loudly and bluntly. She hummed absentmindedly for a moment as she belatedly registered his question. "Oh, I'm not old enough to drink. Mama and Papa would be mad at me if I got in trouble."

Kasai laughed nervously. "Okay, minors table it is then." He motioned a direction and began heading that way, assuming she'd follow.
