At first, there was embarrassment. Then, resignation. But now, Marlins rookie pitcher Burke Badenhop embraces his new assignment as engineer of perhaps the most important tool in the Marlins' bullpen - the Thomas the Tank Engine backpack.
"This thing's got wheels,'' Badenhop said with excitement recently as he prepared to carry the baby-blue pack out to the bullpen, minutes before the first pitch, in front of thousands of fans at Seattle's Safeco Field.
"Usually it's, 'Ha-ha, look at his bag.' It's about the only way anybody in the stands will look at me."

I even just bought an Utley alternate jerseytee yesterday (I have an Utley jersey, an Utley tshirt with his silohuette on it, and yet I don't have the plain ol' jerseytee). WTF. So I have to get it out that there is a new lady in my life. She has even been staying with me for the last week or so. It has been everything I had wished for and more. Although I don't know if it will lead to marriage like my Washington sports counterpart Chris Cooley (congratulations by the way) I have to admit it is going quite well so far! So I figured she could make her world debut on this blog right here. Ok Ok there is no girl, well no girlfriend just the new English Bulldog I got. Jokingly named Miley after the young pop culture princess of today, Miley Cirus. She is all white with a brown ear and has already started tearing stuff up! Although she does act better than some girls I have hung out with. So that's been the excitement in my life for the past week picking up poop and trying to mix a few wins and hits in at the same time!

-Speaking of sales, my outfit for work today cost me roughly 5 dollars. The shirt was $1.99, the skirt was $3.99, and then with my discount, it probably came down total to 5 bucks. Ah, sales. THE DEATH OF ME. And my room. Whoops.
-I'm going to the Kutztown Folk Festival on Tuesday. I'm muy excited, especially to try out and see how well the new dinky digicam I purchased holds up. Well, and the food, that's exciting too. And, this is not a lie, hopefully they have molasses there. Yes, I'm looking forward to that. My mom needs a special kind to make this cake she hasn't made in years (that is yummy), and the general store that used to have them is gone. So, here's hoping. God I sound like I live in the wild west or something. x_X
