I ended up getting that red heather shirt. Not because I don't like the "I P Philadelphia" one, but because it was 29.99, and I had misread it as being 19.99 when I posted it on the poll. I really did like the first one, the white v-neck with the blue/red trim, but I think the red one goes better under jerseys, lol.
Speaking of, there's a 15% off each order on MLB.com now through the 28th if you enter MLBCATALOG as a code. But you didn't hear that from me.
So not only did the Phillies win, and the SUPPOSEDLY LEAGUE BEST BULLPEN (they must be misremembering) got Jamie out of hot water, Utley is a stud, Pat's yanking us along as he does, and Jayson Werth hit another home run, and I missed it, as I am prone to do with JDub homers. I seriously miss EVERY home run he hits, even if I'm tuned in to the games. Whether it's checking the Mets/Marlins game or washing my face or boycotting for an inning as means of getting the boys to get their asses back in gear, I always miss them. Wah.
BUT ANYWAY MY POINT: His mommmm was there and it was the cutest. She was jumping up and down and yelling for him and they interviewed her in the 8th inning during Jayson's AB (he K'd, D'OH!), about how their family is really sports-heavy and all that, and how she's proud of him etc. I ♥ ballplayers and their mamas! He gave her a hug at the end of the game and I got all fuzzy inside.
I visit MLBplayers.com from time-to-time; they always have the more personal articles. Like Kay said, I always post cute Fish articles, and
this is no exception Eric Michael Smith died a half-decade ago, but his spirit lives on through Tankersley.
"Every time I take the mound, I feel he's with me," lefty reliever Tankersley said of Smith. "Whenever I'm having a bad day, whenever I'm struggling, I talk to him."
Both Tankersley and Smith attended Warren Central High School in their native Vicksburg, Miss. But Tankersley was blessed with good health and Major League talent. Smith only had the blessings of an indomitable spirit. That's why Tankersley has started a college scholarship program in Vicksburg called Eric's Legacy to perpetually honor a friend who had to battle brain tumors from age 8 until his death as a teenager.
I'm such a schmoop. The BabyFish are love.
And, back to the Phillies, there was an article during the Rockies series about BIFFLES
Chase Utley & Garrett Atkins. I am so tempted, I tell you. But then things would get weird between me and Chutley, and we don't want that.
And in case I don't post tomorrow, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO
eelrak!! Have a fantastic day and may the Angels kick some ass in your honor!
