So, I've been quiet. I'm around a lot, but mainly reading other blogs and communities on LJ - though it seems like quite a few of my favourites are tailing off too themselves. I'm probably only bothering to post now because it's exam season (yay final year!) and I become much better at social networking in the name of procrastination. In the last 6 months(ish, maybe more like 8):
I Have returned to the UK and London - at a pcarticularly wonderful time, given I landed in the midst of the riots.
My hair has changed colour 3 times (rather accidentally), going through the red-brunette spectrum.
I have completed a Costume Design evening course at LCF, built up a portfolio, endured the UCAS application system (for the third time) and interviews, and now I'm preparing to go to art school next year (wtf?), when half of me still very much wants to do a French MA. I do have a lot of catching up to do on my *actual* current degree before any of that though.
I have read A LOT of Freud (<3) and half of Proust's La Recherche (or In Search of Lost Time to you Britishers who don't speak French). And I have a new blog related to this - since my entire class was signed up on Blogger in order to act as guinea pigs for the tutor's research assignment on reading Proust in the digital age: kclproust07.blogspot.co.uk I make cake.
Oh, and I'm currently writing an essay on objects of curiosity and freak shows (in relation to African imperial colonisation and Joseph Conrad), so I've been to a lot of anatomical museums and seen many many body parts in jars. But it's alright, cos I kind of like it (why else would I go out of my way to write about it?) I saw the Gunther Von Hagens' exh at the Natural History Museum this week. There was an entire huge fuck off preserved elephant. It was cool.
