The past couple of days were sort of a blur for her. As time passed, more things came back to her, but Saffron remembered enough. She remembered what had happened. She remembered being trapped, in the pitch black amid rubble, terrified she was no longer on the island, that she'd left behind the people who meant more to her than she'd ever thought possible. Terrified she was never going to see Xander again, or Lex, or Jack, or Dean.
She remembered hearing Jason's voice.
She remembered him carrying her to the clinic, remembered Dr. Hadley taking care of her, getting her rehydrated.
She remembered being brought to the shower once she was able to be moved, how rutting good that water had felt. She was clean now, had been for almost two days, but she still felt like she couldn't get clean enough.
She remembered Xander, his near constant presence by her bedside, waking to find him asleep in a chair, his head pillowed in his arms and resting on the side of her bed. She slept, much of the time, but she remembered others, coming in and out, other familiar faces that for the space of what she later learned was two days she thought she might never see again.
Now, Saffron was leaving the clinic, having just been released. She was still a bit worn out, but mostly fine, though she figured it was a good thing it wasn't her night to dance tonight. Another day to get her strength up would be good. As soon as she left the clinic Saffron made a beeline for the showers, and luxuriated there beneath the warm flow of water for a long time.
Then, in a green maxi dress newly plucked from the clothes box and with her hair damp and loose around her shoulders, she went up to the kitchen to see about a cup of tea. There were folks she wanted to see and talk to, now that she felt coherent again, the first of which was Jason.
