So...I got a haircut for those who don't know this yet. It's nice, still long but layered to death so it's not heavy. I'll post a picture for
d_copper since I know she likes to see pictures.  It's my first time dragging myself to costcutters alone to get it done. I usually go with my mom to Maria's or with her to costcutters (once). There has to be somewhere closer that isn't a dayspa. CC is not far, but  I do NOT like driving around bishops corner, makes me nervous because people drive like jackasses there. It's probably looking pretty bad today from me being hot, pulling it up in a pony tail, taking it out when I cool down, pushing it out of my face, etc I don't wanna know how bad my skin is looking....

Anyway, this is my second day of school and it's customary for me to rant/whine/explode with joy about it on lj...since it's much too hot for me to sit in my car I'll do it now

....and since it's nothing too personal (just rants, who would wanna read this anyway?) I'm leaving this to the public, I think my last public post was stupid and embarrassing

it is long however so be warned

Yesterday (Monday/Wednesday)

Digital illustration
8:30-11:20

All I have to say is, I adore Doug , no homework, and it's in the new wing of the art school. A tad early, but it means I get a parking spot in the morning, yay! However, expensive...I dont NEED, but  I am getting illustrator and photoshop for this class, I'm not staying here any longer then I need to, and I have a mac at home so there's no point. I also need at least a 2 gig thumb drive thingie...my brain went blank when I tried to think of the name just now...but you know what I mean right? I also need to buy some book, but I'll do it later.

I do however, get to miss the 8am traffic (I leave at 7:50am so I just miss it) which is spiffy.

Figure drawing
1:30-4:20

Again, I adore Doug. I get to look at naked people for three hours (is this good or bad?) No homework again, everything is done in class...which is good and bad...means attendance counts more. Whatever, I only plan on missing one day, and that's in October. Lots of stuff I need to see if I already have though, I wish I cleaned my studio up a bit at home :( I may get stuck in 5pm traffic...dunno, I think I may JUST miss it, can't remember...last semester I went in at 7:50 and left at 7:30-8pm so I'm not sure of the traffic patterns yet.

Today (Tuesday/Thursday)

Watercolor Illustration
9:15-12:05 (aka 9:30-11:55 haha)

Like last year, I love Dennis (Bill is the only one who scares and intimidates me out of the illustration dept) I see LOTS of money flying for this class, just one brush that is maditory is about $35. I wrote down a website he said does overnight shipping and is cheaper...but I smartly forgot my notebook in my car and I have no intention in walking all the way to my car and back in this hot weather, I can do it when I get home. I just wish I had it now because I'm bored. I have class at 2:05, but I have to go to the bookstore and buy a notebook and a soda still (I want  soda damnit)

My only gripe about this is, I get stuck in 8am traffic (I left at 8:20), so it takes me 20 minutes intstead of 10 minutes to get to school. I think I may leave a little earlier next week, I'm paranoid I won't get a parking spot which would mean I would be late...plus I hate driving, I was having a panic attack thinking I would be late. I like getting here early so I can unwind, get to class, unpack and just zone out for a bit.  Plus when it gets all bad weathery out then I'll be even more freaked.

Discovering America I: to 1865
2:05-4:45

I have this class soon, I dread it. I know I'll be bored out of my mind, I won't get half of it and I won't know anyone which won't help. It's also long, too long...but it's a month and half long class...then I get some other class that's required...something about literature and immirgrants I think. Dunno. I'll have the same professor in the same classroom so that's less change...let's hope I like this professor. I hope we get out early today...I don't wanna learn! Nor do I wanna get stuck in stupid 5pm traffic...

I have a feeling I'll only get one sick day...which makes me nervous.

Good news is, after these two, I only need one more auc...one more art history and I think a science? or is that the auc I need? Whatev.  I should take a summer or winter term...more likely summer, winter is only a month versus summer which is 3 months.  I should have minored in something, but I wanted to get all of the required studios over with, so I kind of missed my chance...unless yanno...I take a million summer and winter terms...dunno...graphic design or graphic communications or whatever it's called does not thrill me anymore to be honest. I like coding my OWN websites (which is more media arts) and I can do text if I have to, but I rather dislike it. I should take more type classes because it's part of my job (graphic design and illustration are tanlged together in a way) but ehhh....next semester if it's not at 10pm like last time.

Final thoughts and rambles to pass time (yes I'm a dork)

Overall, this semester is not that bad...for school, I get home at a reasonable hour unlike last, and I don't have stupid 4/5 hour gaps...minus today and yesterday when my classes were all short because of the first day and all. I much rather be off doing my own thing, but oh well. It'll teach me road rage in the morning, make me tired and stressed, but hey, I get to lose weight and get some exercise. The gym looks tempting, but I'm hot already just from walking to public saftey to register my car (they said a 2 week grace period for commuters, but I see ps ticketing people, so I asked if I would be ticketed if I got mine now, and the ps officer bitched at me...but ended up saying no thank god) I was more like a dripping mess, thank god I brought some powder or I would be freaking out about having a somewhat greasy face.  Heat+humidity+me=bitchy, unhappy me. Good thing I wore sneakers instead of sandals. Nice that they bill later and you can buy a whole year isntead of one semester. I think it's the same price for one year as it is for fall semester...Spring I think is $45 so $75+$45 verus just $75...or something either way one year is cheaper then buying the semesters seperately

I have to say that I have leaving my parking space, I'm so afraid someone is going to smash into me when I'm backing up because people drive like assholes...or they're duking it out for my parking space. Plus I hate backing up to begin with. My parking jobs lately have been crooked which pisses me off, I used to be good at it.

I would like to sometime see the people I used to live with in Freshman year, but knowing me I probably won't because I'm stupid and can't seem to make plans. Plus my weekends seem to be filled with Jen's wedding stuff until her wedding in October. I hate having to tell the other bridesmaids/maid of honor that I can't make it to half of the planning meeting things...but I don't live near New Haven (or whatever haven they live in)  so I'm not ready to drive myself there, and it's a pain to rely on my mom to get me there. Highways and I do not get along...and that's with me in the passengers seat hyperventalating because of all of the big ass cars and trucks zooming by and cornering me. Driving in Litchfield/torrington etc are a breeze compared to Hartford. Yuck.

...and I just realized I forgot sunscreen....damnit and my gum is getting stale tasting. I wanna go home, wait for Jim to get home then go to Manchester to exchange his shirt at LLbean, go to Christmas Tree shop and go to target to exchange my boots for a smaller size (calfs feel too loose amazingly) Now, if that'll happen, I have no clue...he wanted to make swedish meatballs, peas and brown rice last night...but I made pies with his leftover chilli so he planned on doing it tonight...though his attention spand is shorter then mine so who knows. I don't think I like swedish meatballs, but who knows.

...I also wanna go clothes shopping...my clothes are all covered in paint *looks at jeans worn now* yep even these...and these are my favorite damnit. Plus, my erm...chest size has gone up so a lot of my shirts are obscene now. Stupid gaining weight then losing then gaining.

Regardless, this weekend I have to get art supplies and schedule an eye exam. I want contacts or at least  a new pair of glasses that have sunglasses because I seem to have lost mine...right after Cape Cod...so the only explaination I can come up with is that I left them at Tapas because I took them off there to take my sweatshirt off. Ah, that was glorious weather then....warm in the sun, cool in the shade with no trace of humidity.

...Did I mention that  I wanna go home yet? My allergies are all gross but I can't take anything. Last time I took one of JIm's Chlor-tab thingies....I talked to the fridge and giggled like a loon then passed out. I once took two and slept for 23 hours....I don't react well to allergy meds...so no allergy meds when driving. Plus I'm having a hard enough time staying awake now...so sleepy and I went to bed all early (early for me) so I had 7 1/2 hours of sleep which is about what I normally get, maybe one/two hours more....but still...Guess I'm tired from the night before when I couldn't fall asleep til 4am and had to be up at 7:00. Meh

My plan when I get home: a damn nap, no classes tomorrow so if my nap keeps me up a little later, that'll be fine. It's gonna be HOT tomorrow. it's 84 degrees right now... which makes the humidity feel like 70% rather then 15% No wonder I melted in the car....though it should be shaded now...I really need sunglasses, I feel handicapped without them. My arms hurt, from what I don't know...must have slept funny on em.

I need better windsheild wipers....mine are wimpy. I say this because I see that it'll rain on Monday...well maybe...50% chance....I need caffiene now...my vitamin water is kinda not as cold as I'd like.
