Despite what he's sure some people believe, Eduardo isn't oblivious. The truth or dare game made clear enough that something was going on, making people say things they didn't want to; he was just also distracted at the time, and unaffected by the turn of events, resulting in it being easy not to spend any time dwelling on it. For that reason, when they leave the makeshift campsite, when he stops at his hut to drop off everything he'd brought with him, when he heads up to the Compound, it's about the last thing on his mind. Whatever it was will pass, he's sure, and people will work everything out. For now, tired and slightly more unkempt than usual, he has plenty else on his mind, starting with getting some coffee. Being on a magic island free of obligations, as it turns out, does not make caffeine any less of a blessing than it was when he was in college.
His path to the kitchen is altered, though, when he sees Mark just outside, heading in his direction instead. Smiling at the sight of Mark is an instinct that he doesn't think he'll ever shake, no matter what was done to him, especially now that Mark is here, something that still strikes him as fucking incredible every time he stops to think about it. And he does think about it, affords himself a moment to be nothing but grateful as he reaches Mark's side and rests a hand briefly on his shoulder in greeting. He thinks about that, and not the way that people were acting strange last night, certainly not stopping to consider that Mark might be affected by whatever was going on.
"Mark, hey," he says, all warmth, smile just barely tinged with hope. "You heading inside?"
