so I guess I look like kelly
I am not sure who she is
or if that is how you spell her name
but I was mistaken for her today
I wonder how many people I pass on the street
who I know or did know
or even will know
in a far away time or place
I dream about these people sometimes
with their unfamiliar faces
I just wish I could remember them
maybe invite them over for some tea

It's really mind boggling
how this here noggin really works
you know, its constantly going
from one point to the next
thoughts overlapping and crashing into each other
as people continue to glare at me
as if I owe them something
or I am some sort of a memory
It was years ago that I lived here
I was just a wee one then
I guess kelly was too
but I will never know

"do you know me?" I want to say
have we met somewhere before?
or are you just looking for someone
as you hold your pose and attempt to determine
I just want to ask you
what memory comes to mind?
do these people ever find themselves
searching for me in this crowd
in this dreamlike place we live in

Maybe I will see your face in the paper one day
then I will know you passed away
but no face will match the name
you see, we have never really met
you are only in my dreams
