[The observant might notice that Charles hasn't been getting much sleep lately. It's just little details here and there so it's easy to miss.]

I wonder if anyone can enlighten me on this, but is there an outside force here that is capable of influencing people's minds? [Other than him of course.]I ask because there seem to be an increasing number

Are we sure that it's an 'increasing number'...? Maybe the machines are just... picking them up moreso than usual.

It's possible, but I'm not inclined towards that theory.

[Charles has no idea how he can explain why without giving away the knowledge of his mutation. He's still unsure how people here from so many different places and times would take to that kind of knowledge.]

The machines do appear to be taking a decent sample of the population.

[personally, he has a lot of nightmares, and it's nothing strange to him that other people do as well-- all the same, people seem to be worried about it.]
