How to Credit Icons | Tutorial

Feb 03, 2006 22:52

  • I, personally, don't require credit. I adore it and appeciate it but I don't require it. So this tutorial isn't exactly for my icons, it's just generally.
  • I know it may seem impossible to do a in depth tutorial on icon crediting, but gee, jolly and wiz I did.
  • Covers Credit when Uploading
  • Credit when already Uploaded
  • Default icons tut as well, how to make icons you default icons. When it's a step about making default icons the numbers have a * next to them.

1. Go manage - userpics (for both personal and lj communities)

2. I'm showing this tut with my personal LJ but you can also choose a community (if you choose a community remembe to click switch)

3. You should have an uploading form like this.

4. From File means that you Browse your documents and choose icons from there and From URL means copy and paste from somewhere like Photobucket. Keywords is where you put the icon maker (I'm using this journal as an example) and comments are optional, along with what you write within them.

5*. This is exactly the same as above yet I've clicked Make this your default userpic if you want the icon you're posting to be you default userpic then click that button.

IF YOU ICONS ARE ALREADY UPLOADED!
If you uploaded your icons and forgot to mention keyword or credit or default icon, follow this tut.

1. (Complete up to step 2 on above tut) Scroll your userpics until you find the icon you want to change, add whatever you need to add.

2*. If you also want it to be your default icon make sure default is clicked.

3*. And if you don't want a default icon, some layouts don't work with them, click the No Default Picture button.

8. While I have no image for it, if you want to delete your icon just click the delete button next to the default one.

9. And save.
