Caught up

I'm finally caught up on The Closer; I marathoned the episodes stacked up on the DVR yesterday. It starts back up in January.

I'm a mite curious about Leverage, a new series they were promoting heavily; I spy Angel alum Christian Kane in the trailer. Speaking of heavy promoting, I am not sure I have it within me to care less about Raising the Bar. I don't care how good it may be - I'm just not interested in yet another legal drama.

We still need to watch Fringe, True Blood, and some of the other things sitting quietly in digital storage, but it's progress.

Damages starts Season Two in early 2009. Glenn Close won an Emmy this year for her portrayal of Patty Hewes, and, frankly, I wish there were some way to make the award bigger. This is the best performance I've seen her give since Dangerous Liaisons. She is absolutely riveting (The chorus of the theme song? "When I am through with you, there won't be anything left." Thing is, they could be talking almost any of the key characters.) I don't know how they're going to keep up the quality and the tension in Season 2, but I sure hope that they do. Many unanswered questions persist. The writing is compelling. If you're interested in catching up, Season 1 is out on DVD.
