life changes

It's crazy how things have changed since I last posted here. For those of you who still read this, I guess that I owe you all an update.

School: I'm getting my MBA. It was a completely crazy and spontaneous decision. It's definitely difficult at times, but I don't regret doing the program. I just keep telling myself that I'll appreciate it later. I'm also doing pre-reqs for my Doctorate in Physical Therapy so that adds a lot of stress.  I'll probably be doing those applications this summer to begin the program right after I finish my MBA... so starting Fall 2012?  Yikes.

Dance: I'm dancing with a modern company here in Tucson- www.newarticulations.org/news-2/.  We have a show coming up in April so if you're in Tucson... you should come.  If you're not in Tucson... you should think about coming anyway... that means you necessary and rainsdance (because it's modern =) ).  Even though it's nice that the company is part-time and really convenient for people who have other things full-time, like work and school, I really miss ballet.  Mike took me to see "Nutcracker," and I cried for the majority of Act II.  I started taking some ballet classes again, but I'm really torn about what I should do.  It looks like it would be possible to do both my MBA and Ballet Tucson next year (assuming that I got back in awesome shape, auditioned, and got offered a job).  However, I don't know if that's really what I want or not.  I'm having a hard time differentiating between an emptiness without performing ballet or the genuine passion to want to do it.  I think that I'm just going to get in shape and see what happens.  There is also a summer company up in Phoenix, Convergence, that I'm looking into.  They do more contemporary ballet so that'd be awesome.  And I'd get to perform without having the full-time commitment of Ballet Tucson.  I do miss "Nutcracker" though.  Who knows what'll happen.  It's a mystery I guess.

Mike: We got engaged!  We set the date for January 7, 2012 here in Tucson.  I hope that his Navy guys, my friends from home, and the dancers from all over can make it.  We're going to have it at the Westward Look Resort, and it's going to be glorious!  We booked our flights to go to Hawaii for our honeymoon this weekend too.  We don't know which islands we're going to yet, but we have our main flights so that's all that really matters for now.  My dress is still undecided.  I tried on a bunch while my mom was here, and I finally got an idea of what I wanted it to be.  So I designed it for my mom to make it.  It hasn't been started yet, but I'm hoping that will happen soon.  We decided on navy blue and peach for our colors.  Navy for Mike, and peach for me... Georgia peaches, ballet peach, and peach roses... what my parents used to give me after every performance.  Wedding planning has proven to be a ridiculous source of procrastination from schoolwork, which has made Finance particularly difficult this semester.

I think that those are the main updates.  Guillermo is still a crazy little dog, and that is why we love him.
