I did not like the character design in TMNT one bit (well, except Splinter), but I went in knowing that I didn't like the way the characters looked so it wasn't too bad for me. I did go into shock for about two seconds at anorexic-Barbie April but then I forgot about it because, well, Donatello tech helpline.

And yes, sheesh, the opening narration was both unnecessary and ridiculous. So blatantly unnecessary that I'm not really sure how storyboard artists and assistant directors and editors all let it slip through. But I think the opening was the only point where I was laughing at the movie instead of with it.

I am using my Betsy icon because she, too, is a mutant and a ninja.

I knew nothing about the film before I went to see it, so I had no expectations -- and was fairly pleasantly surprised! I did almost start giggling at the opening "FOUR turtles." He just sounded so serious, and dude -- they're ninja turtles. Serious is something you have to work up to for that.

Donatello was FAB. I think he got the best characterisation of all of them. Leo especially got kinda shafted. But I love him anyway, the humourless bastard.

I had some icons for a while from the new Ninja Turtle cartoon, which I kind of adore. I was thinking I might need to start using one of 'em again.
