I am back in Orlando - and quite happy to be here.
New York was amazing don't get me wrong - but the last day was really high stress for me. The ordeal of just getting to the airport is soo long and complicated. :/
3 things I experienced w/ the new york subway system:
1)a man speaking to himself in another language, than stopping and starting to talk to me, telling me I looked Puerto Rican and wondering if I spoke Spanish. Thank God we were only 1 stop away from our destination.
2)a man placing little signs on almost everyone window of the subway letting all the females know that if they were promiscuous and wanted some that he was also promiscuous and ready and willing to spend some quality time. A unique mating call if you ask me.
3)a man peeing over the side of the subway platform and onto the tracks. In truth I didn't see this act,and this is the point where i thank GOD that i don't have perifreial vision, but Aaron unfortuantly does...and told me to move fast down the way.
We went to the Toys-R-Us in time square, the Hershey's store (a dream come true for any PMSing woman), and the Virgin Mega store, which played Dredg the entire time we were there *smiles* Another fun we did in the time square area was the "top of the rock" kinda like going to the top of the empire state bulding only just to the top of the rockafeler*sp. aaron and I got some really awesome pictures of the two of us and the city scape.
We went to the Met, the Brooklyn Museum of Art and the American Natural History Museum. At the Brooklyn museum we got to see the guy who does all those cute pictures w/ dogs, the ones you see on Sesame Street. the sad faced dogs in women's dresses and high heels, or with fruit baskets on their heads. He's a really cool artists. I have a few post cards of his picutres to hang on my walls.
We went to an improv comedy club and had a GREAT time. I laughed so hard - and it was cheap which was a super plus. We also found a new stand up comic named Bobby Johnson. i think his website is www.wearebobbyjohnson.com but I am not sure.
Our last full night there Aaron and I saw RENT. He bought a long sleeved shirt and i purchased a button, keychain and magnet. :)
We also went to a few cool stores: H&M, KidRobot and the Super Hero Store. All super fun. There are only 3 KidRobot in America so it was cool to go there. Aaron got a Nightmare Before Christmas "Zero" key chain and a super mario magnet.
At the Natural History museum we got to see a few neat rooms, we didnt get to be there as long as we wanted for several compounding reasons, but it's all good. We also got to see an Imax of the Galapagos Islands and an exhibit about Darwin.
I have the best sisters in the entire world. Jody and Jason were awesome awesome family to stay with!! and their cat Link only added to the happiness. I love my sister! <3
Alot of that is for my own memory - I will probably go back and LJ cut most of this so I don't burden everyones friend page. Like I said there will be pictures up in facebook soon - if you don't have facebook and want to see the picutres let me know and I'll see what I can do.
It's good to be home. I worked today and I work tomorrow. My dad felt so bad about throwing away the slip to get me an end of the semester goody bag so he sent his own care package!! It has 3boxes of Peeps and some Cadbury Eggs. I love my dad. what's really freakin creepy is that one of my fortune from a bazooka joe wrapper said that I would get something special in the mail. now i got this gum yesterday in the Laguardia airport with NO IDEA that I was getting my dads carepackage today. odd huh? *twilight zone music*
Hopefully tomorrow night we'll rent some movies and on Sunday I will chill w/ some people here, have a small party maybe. Details to come.
Btw - Chelsea I thought of you like a dozen times tonight. we went to a place called "froggers" and played a trivia game and I swear you could've answered like half a dozen questions for us!! :) things about the beatles and classic rock bands...etc. ;-)
I should be sleepin'. I guess I'll go ahead and jump on that. <3
