Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities: [ HERE ]Not only is Itachi a missing-nin but also a member of the Akatsuki, an S-class criminal group so he is obviously skilled in basic jutsu. He is a genjutsu master and most of it is by the power of his Sharingan which can copy the opponent's jutsu and use it against them. He is known to be extremely fast with his techniques and a very talented opponent in his own right. Also because he is of the Uchiha clan, he can use a certain attack called Katon, which means he can breath fire or multiple balls of fire and manipulate them.

He also has the Mangekyou Sharingan which can do the following:

Mangekyou Sharingan/Sharingan • The Sharingan can copy any sort of attack and the user can memorize it. It can memorize ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu almost perfectly. It can also slightly hypnotize the opponent and copy their basic movements, making it almost seem like they can see the future.

Tsukuyomi • One of the attacks that Itachi can do with the Mangekyou Sharingan is the Tsukuyomi, which can make the opponent appear in a illusionary world that the user can control. Although only seconds pass in reality, it can seem like days or weeks of physical or mental torture for the opponent. Once said torture is done, the technique is released and the victim suffers a mental breakdown due to the illusion.

Amaterasu • With his right eye he is able to summon the Amaterasu which is a large black flame that is known to burn everything within vision. However, there is a certain side effect that causes his right eye to bleed due to the mass amount of chakra that is used.

Susano'o • The final attack of the Mangekyou Sharingan is Susano'o, which is a dream-like summon that can defeat almost anything. It has a sword in one hand with a shield in the other. The shield is able to reflect all attacks while the sword can trap anyone it touches in an eternal illusion.

Apart from the Sharingan, Itachi can also form shadow clones and make them explode on command which can easily kill those that are near the blast and he is very skilled with long-ranged attacks using kunai and the such with perfect aim.

Character History: [ HERE ]

Point in Canon: At the end of chapter 380

Conditional: Brief summary of previous RP history:Oh boy. Where to start.

Okay, the start of Itachi’s life basically mirrors that of what happened in canon. Good shinobi, good son, good bro(?) -- okay. Hold that there. The thing is, Itachi in NeoGenesis didn’t have Sasuke. He didn’t remember Sasuke at all. As a matter of fact, he didn’t even realize there was a single drop of Uchiha blood until he had met Madara. Now, the situation was familiar within the city. Omega and Alpha wanted the Uchiha gone. If not, a war would break out. So if they weren't exterminated, the Uchiha would be taken in as terrorists used for human experimentation. Including himself.

Why Itachi killed them was because he was competent enough at a young age to work as a double agent for the Omega and the Uchiha, and it was a mercy killing in his view.

Afterwards, he had met Madara who was at the Uchiha village (a small buried-away little place in within the forest in Elysium) who was happily plucking the eyeballs out of Itachi’s dead victims.

It was simple as this: Itachi was at the age fourteen, Madara needed some publicity to reenter into society after his exile by Alpha (an event that was sparked by Madara’s girlfriend, Belial). What better way to do this than to create an organization of legalized, well-known assassins. This group, Akatsuki, holed up in Elysium with Itachi as the public face and shadow leader while Madara played behind the curtain.

For the next six years, Itachi was a public figure and lived a somewhat normal life. Despite the prolonging arguments of politics, his own role as an assassin, and being a college student on top of it all (for god's sake), Itachi had it pretty easy...save for the fact that he was dying slowly from side effects of the Uchiha genetic defect that took form of the Sharingan. It wasn't until he hit the age of twenty that Itachi decided to change something.

During his time in NeoGenesis, Itachi was purely known as a sadist. This had all changed, however, once he had a reunion with an old school friend, Kazama, whose past was disturbingly familiar to his own: Kazama, like Itachi, had been forced to commit mass murder of those he had known. They were close acquaintances, and also Kazama was Itachi’s first person he became attached to on any level.

Soon enough this would provide a connection to the three other individuals that he would grow fond of: Shikamaru, his student, who he intentionally threatened with physical violence in order to show his true potential; Nill, the mute mutant that he became vaguely protective of; and...well, Yosuke. Who's a complete dumbass and who Itachi has to bitchslap a couple of times to get some common sense into him.

In addition to these relationships was a very precious one. During his stay in NeoGenesis, Itachi formed an intimate relationship with Soifon. They soon became...an item. Itachi was protective of her, of course, but even he was unable to fully protect her from Madara.

During Itachi's 'surprise party' -- which was unfortunately organized by the idiotic Yosuke -- Madara showed up for his own revenge on Itachi. (A half year prior to Itachi’s birthday, Itachi had managed to fatally injure Madara by removing his eyes -- and kept them as his own) It was in Madara’s company that Itachi first met Sasuke, who had a determination to kill Itachi for unknown reasons by him.

Sooner than later, and understanding the risks that could and would have happened if Itachi had not completely surrendered to his former teacher, Itachi willingly allowed Madara to lay waste to him. His kouhai, Kazama, as well as the object of whatever limited affection he had, Soifon, watched as he was brutally murdered with a hand through his chest and his innards spilling to the floor.

Later he was revived, but because Itachi was deemed a special case in the eyes of Omega and Alpha (e.g. known as a dangerous man), he was forced down into the Abyss where he allowed himself to stay. He remained until Kazama fought his way down there to try and make Itachi understand that he was needed in Elysium.

He returned, of course, and reunited with the trio of teenagers. Yet Itachi was still a wanted criminal within the city and his identity had to remain closed. However, it seemed peace was too much to ask for him, and not long after his return, the Mad Hatter Belial had his acquaintances forced into a game of Battle Royale. They all died. Kazama went missing while Shikamaru, Yosuke, and Nill were slaughtered on national television, their deaths the consequence of a game manipulated by the NeoGenesis senator, Johan Liebert. The group was revived only because of the intervention of rogue Omega agents.

On a personal front, Itachi met Sasuke once again. It was revealed that they were indeed siblings, and even though Itachi had no memories of Sasuke, he understood it was true. Sasuke was intent on destroying Itachi, and Itachi had only fought in self-defense at the birthday party, not understanding the situation. Afterwards, he gave into Madara once again and Madara granted him permission to be allowed once again into the society of NeoGenesis by rejoining the Akatsuki out of defeat.

Without much rest and with his position back, Itachi searched for Kazama. Once he resurfaced and that matter was settled, Itachi turned his sights on the senator for the sake of eliminating a threat to all of them. There wasn't much problem in finding him, and Itachi assassinated him during a public speech. Shikamaru assisted in his escape after the final blow was given.

After the death of the senator and the subsequent reveal that their lives had been nothing but a false veil that hid their true memories, Itachi found himself leaving NeoGenesis as the city crumbled beneath them.

Character Personality:At the tender age of five, Itachi experienced the unfortunate situation of being sucked into the Third Ninja War. The destruction and death around him caused Itachi to form an ideology of pacifism. Yet even though he proclaimed himself a pacifist, Itachi was nothing less than a tool to annihilate the whole of his clan -- a deep, painful conflict given his affection for his family -- and it's that action that shaped his personality. Underneath everything, Itachi is a considerate brother, he loves Sasuke, and he was loyal to the Uchiha clan, but in the end he murdered them all because war between Konoha and the Uchiha had to be avoided at all costs. He would not allow Sasuke to go through what he himself once had endured when he was younger; to witness mindless slaughter. (-- No, instead Itachi killed their family and allowed his younger brother to witness Itachi killing their mother and father. A little contradictory in a sense.)

Basically, Itachi can be summed up as a mysterious, complex, and insanely fucked-up individual. First and foremost, with plain implications, he has cold, indifferent demeanor and does not often acknowledge other people. Each word slips from his mouth and every action is performed with incredible self-control and utmost self-awareness of the outcome. He can be condescending, displaying himself as uninterested and holding an expression that is nearly incapable of wavering to show his emotions. A secretive man above all else who prefers to keep it that way, no matter what the topic or subject at hand is.

Itachi is young prodigy who is logical, immensely intelligent, and pragmatic, brought into the world to be a weapon and tool for authorities to hold control over. Genius strategy and impressive intuition with an appreciation for solitude from society replaces any indication of empathy in his behavior. Yet this could be a debatable aspect of Itachi's personality; during his younger years and after suffering the Third Ninja War, his care for Sasuke had grown immensely and caused him to make irrational decisions, going so far as to willingly murder his whole family for the sake of his village but sparing his younger brother's life. Still, with the layers that Itachi has wrapped himself up in, empathy is not something he allows himself to indulge in, but something that he has forcefully shoved down in the back of his mind and buried six feet out of a need to survive, to keep his true intentions a secret until his death.

Feeling nothing other than detachment from almost everyone and everything around him, Itachi merely tolerates their existence; listens to their problems mutely, perhaps even will assist them in whatever they may need if there is some benefit to him. The aspiration to gain friendships, however, is very much an aspect in his life that he has abandoned; he does not find it necessary to engage in trivial conversation. To him, relationships and trust have become an illusion of false reassurance. He expects that betrayal can happen at any moment, and once he does place trust in someone, it indicates that Itachi views them very highly. He understands the possibilities and risks of forming bonds, and that is why Itachi can come to trust very few and even then expects a betrayal to occur at some point.

Accepting himself as a branded traitor, Itachi has given up his entire being to be Sasuke's sacrifice; Sasuke, his only attachment and the only reason why he's become who he has. There is no justifying that he is a murderer who slaughtered a whole clan. It was cruel and heartless for him to force Sasuke witness everything he knew being so easily and brutally massacred (and by his own brother, under the guise of being a raging, unfeeling psychopath.) He destroyed his younger brother's hope to proceed with a normal life. Of course it could be argued that it was for a good cause, but as much as his actions could be seen as that of a martyr, Itachi had willingly betrayed those that were close to him. He was selfish.

Nonetheless, even with his status as a murderer, Itachi is not a sadist. He does not use his powers for unnecessary torture, no matter how powerful he is, and gains no pleasure from harming others. He is very much one who wishes for the unattainable promise of peace; after all, living through all the conflicts he has lived through, it would only be a natural wish. Being as aware as he is of his own abilities as well as accepting what he has become may seem to be sociopathic tendencies, no matter how much of a contrast that is to his true nature. Despite powers that can make him an extremely dangerous threat, Itachi holds no motive to seek destruction and chaos. It's simplest to say: Itachi is not that bad of a person.

Being in a criminal organization with the unoriginal desire to take over the world has given him quite a reputation, and Itachi uses this infamy to make himself known as what he has become, purely allowing himself being viewed as an S-class criminal throughout the world and to manipulate those that think as much. With a high intelligence and a gift for strategy in battle, with overwhelming confidence that has no hidden arrogance, his mere presence tends to threaten those that are in visible proximity. But with his desire for peace in mind, for the sake of that same pacifistic delusion, actual engagement in battle is usually something that he retreats from.

He wasn't always like this. He wasn't so cold, such an isolated and reclusive killer. But when you are shoved into a world of gore and war at a young age, there is something in your mind that can just never heal -- and even after that, even with the war's end, the very threat that another might spark is what provoked Itachi to sacrifice himself. All his personal morals were easily discarded with understanding and acceptance as he chose to go down a road that would result in his pseudo-murder. (In truth, his own suicide.)

The thing about Itachi is that he wants to avoid conflict. He does not engage in it when it can be helped. Instead he ignores any form of uneasiness and tension and plays himself to be apathetic to such things in order to maintain a stable peace of mind. Politeness does not elude him either. He speaks with blank respect, if slightly disdainful, although the impression is indirect and not overtly intentional. With complexities such as his own, he rarely (if ever) speaks of himself. Being content with keeping himself at a distance from others, he seldom talks of his own affairs -- a topic that is no one else's concern but his own, and one that he prefers to keep private.

Conditional: Personality development in previous game: Being an insanely fucked-up individual before his arrival, Itachi has a more pessimistic view of the world as well as society after NeoGenesis. Don't get me wrong; he's not a complete misanthrope but his view on people in general is one that could be described as disparaging and discouraging. Even his pacifism is very cynical, and he almost mocks the idea of true peace, but this doesn't stop him from chasing idealism when almost-delusional desire for that peace overtakes him.

With his experiences, Itachi has also become much more morally conflicted now that he understands that NeoGenesis was nothing more than a false reality. (However, his own ideology makes him believe that even though it is a false reality, it is a reality all the same. No matter how untrue, or how unrealistic it is.) Though it was one that was physically and mentally more abusive than his own, Itachi still holds a rather impassive exterior while inwardly he suppresses his own emotions. He avoids conflict and getting involved, and he still holds himself with a stoic and cold demeanor. He still neglects himself emotionally, he still has the disease affecting him, and he still (now that his memories have come back) will do anything to ensure his brother's safety as well as try to keep his own peace of mind.

However, due to the manipulative nature of NeoGenesis, those that he has become vaguely attached to, he will furiously protect. Battle Royale within NeoGenesis had slaughtered everyone he had come to care about and he won't let that happen again. Even so, he still treats them firmly.

All in all, Itachi hasn't changed completely, but there are subtle hints that indicate he has gone through a lot. Just not enough to fully change him. He is still calm and controlled, still detached and distance, but there is something darker and more twisted.

Character Plans: Considering his previous relationships drawn in from the same environment as himself, Itachi will no doubt assist them however he can. But now that he knows that he is a martyr in his own world and that Sasuke means everything to him, he will still be determined to fulfill his objective via his own death by the hands of Sasuke, unaware of the possibility that Sasuke might be familiar with his true plans. And -- well, he will also continue to go blind.

Writing Samples

First Person Sample[ When the feed first flickers to life, it is a uninteresting sight. The walls painted in a dull beige. The window in the far corner gives the only indication of what the time seems to be. Early morning, most likely, but if one was to be lost in the direction of time, it could easily be mistaken as late evening. It is only when faint sunlight begins to through the window and lights the room to remove any dimness that it's clear to be the former.

Itachi doesn't hold the device. As a matter of fact, it is on the surface of a bedside table. Already has he received word from a greeter, introducing him to this new world that is not any better than the last.

(No. In some aspects, it's better. He knows that his mind is not being toyed with.)

Even though his physical appearance manages to avoid the feed, the groaning of the bed underneath him gives enough indication of another being in close enough proximity to broadcast.

The silence lingers, and it's almost painfully dull.

After several minutes, he stands. It's not noticeable at first, at least not until the device is lifted. It catches sight of a dark-haired man -- long fingers, and a hint of red hues that glance at the screen, only for the feed to fade into blankness as he starts to speak.

His voice is low, lacking in everything but indifference: ] For those that can provide a more elaborate explanation -- [ Bluntly: ] your contact is welcome. [ A pause. ] As well as those that hold familiarity.

[ And without a breath further, the transmission ends. ]

Third Person SampleHe felt the ground underneath him, the seething pain in his chest, and his first breath was a sharp inhale that stung his throat, his chest, his lungs, and it was blistering; just as the sun was to his sight as he blearily opened his eyes. Red orbs glossed over with a hazy vision, and he couldn't bring himself to sit up, at least not for a while. It was unsettling, however, how he felt his limbs weigh as heavy as lead and his lips barely parted to breathe in slow breaths that once stung, only to now soothe. And he leaned and sat up, and it hurt, and the twisting knot in his gut threatened to pour from his very being. But he could control it, he could control himself; slowly getting from the ground to his own two feet, and he wavered uneasily and out of balance.

Then, as quickly as his newly regained control over himself (physically, emotionally, mentally) it was torn away, and a surge of pain traveled through his nerves, through his limbs and digging down in his gut. Because it hit him. It tasted bitter as memories flowed down his throat, force-feeding him what-once-was and what-is-true, forcing through his very being, and it rushed and pushed him into a trance.

Itachi's mind pulsed with the thoughts of NeoGenesis: of Kazama and Soifon, of Shikamaru and Nill and Yosuke and -- Sasuke. He tried to murmur the name, only for it to vanish into a silent exhale the moment it left his lips.

(Sasuke.)

"Welcome to Siren's Port." The voice didn't dare to jolt him out of his flooding thoughts, and whatever was spoken to him only went in one ear and out the other. He listened, he took in the words, but they didn't matter to him. It was a slow process of digesting these words while he tried to put his thoughts in order. Mind disorganised and painfully untidy to understand, but when he placed them in line, he gazed at the person in front of him with a blank stare.

A sharp inhale, and that was all he needed to pull together the pieces of himself again. The talk of the communicator,-- (He didn't need to be told where it was. He knew it was the heavy weight against his forearm inside the sleeve of his Akatsuki garb.)-- of the apartment, and Itachi only gave the figure a nod of acknowledgment. He could have questioned, he could have inquired multiple and numerous questions, but he didn't, because he didn't need to.

...Because when he reached the apartment in a languid pace and flicked on the device that was given to him, he only let his gaze read over words that spilled from it.

Unfamiliarity was common. Still, after some time of witnessing the words and pictures of others, he placed it on the bedside table. A soft audible click, and he spoke with heavy reluctance.
