SECRET ALIEN FIGHTING ORGANISATION FAIL. It's kind of funny counting how many of the disasters are actually their fault.

Are you joking? I thought her parents really got a shitty deal. If I had been that mum, I would have killed Jack right there.

BTW, is the quote on your icon from Almost Perfect?

Her mum got a shitty deal. The stepfather being killed was a bit drastic for how he acted, but I found it hard to be sympathetic when he's telling her her father left when she was a baby because of her being such a creepy kid, because (from their pov) she doesn't watch enough tv and plays with imaginary friends. Her mother wasn't perfect, but then no one is, and she at least obviously cared. Overall I was more sympathetic to Jasmine than either parent, though, and I probably would have wanted to go with the fairies too if I was her.

It is!

Maybe it's because I am a mum, but when Jack let that girl go I was hysterical. Yeah, the step dad was pretty bad, mostly because I don't think he knew how to handle kids, especially little weird kids. Her parents reminded me of a mild charicature(sp) of the Dursley;s from Harry Potter.

Still, I'd have waited until I could track him down, and then I would have killed him. He better have retconned her.

That book kicks ass!

I hope they did too, though sadly it's still not good enough to fix it all - she still would have lost her partner and her daughter, just not know how it really happened. I feel bad for her, I just also sympathise with Jasmine wanting to live in the world the fairies could offer her rather than deal with the inadequacies of reality. It's a shitty situation all around really.

It's my favourite! I laughed all the way through, it was hilarious.
