From malecrit & narcissam: What poets do you have on your shelves? For the purposes of this list, they should be there by your choice (as opposed to being texts for courses, etc) and be either the collected or selected works of one single poet (anthologies and collections do not count, nor do Selections from Works which include, but do not consist exclusively of, ( Read more... )

“On thy mouth though the kisses are bloody”- Swinburne, Dolores (Notre Dame Des Sept Douleurs)

-

Severus’ mouth is full of blood the first time they kiss, and she can feel the cold steel slice on his tongue. Its sharpness wrenches the moment into immediacy; without it she would have felt like she was in a Muggle movie, somehow removed, perhaps thirty years ago with the click click click of the reel sounding to one side of the screen. Black-and-white. He holds her exactly eleven inches from his body, his fingers pressed lightly onto her shoulders like he’s propping her up. The only warmth in their kiss is the warmth of blood; his open mouth is not inviting but simply allowing.

The smell of sleeping draught clings to her clothes even when she emerges into the sun from the brewery, blinking her eyes in its warm gold even as she turns up her face towards it. “Are you coming, Severus?” She asks, standing at the top of the steps, the light diffusing her silhouette, her voice, her being.

The pain renders him mute as he holds a rag to his lips, but his eyes are black and whole in the face of the glare. Perhaps it’s the taste of his blood on her tongue or perhaps something else altogether that makes her say, “I forgive you” even though he has not yet sinned.

*loves you endlessly*

So glad you like Captain Lucius. There's a Part II to that which I cannot speak of at this time, but I think you'll enjoy that as well.

And I just wanted to share a quickie idea with you because you might appreciate it, being a fellow history buff. Sadly, I don't know if I'll ever have the time for this fic, but it came to me in the shower yesterday.

I have an obsession with WWI flying aces, notably, naturally, Baron Manfred von Richthofen. I was thinking of an interesting crossover where Lucius gets inadvertently sent back in time (I have this worked out actually) and meets up with the Red Baron (who IS actually a Wizard). It gets rather intersting since Lucius is English but they come to an understanding (cough cough). I'd like to tie in some history with Lucius producing the Muggle photo of Manfred's last flight, taken just before he left the airplane field. This leads to Manfred deciding that if no photos are ever taken of him before flights, then he won't die (hence his later on in life superstition about not wanting photos taken). Unfortunately, some things are just destined, and when Lucius returns to his time and locale, the photo continues to exist -- it was still taken (historically, Manfred didn't know the photo had been taken by someone not aware of his superstition). There's a bit more, of course, but I really liked the idea of aristocratic Lucius and fellow aristocratic oh so fine Red Baron. sigh... I'm an idiot, I know...

Thought I'd share that with you though.

Hi, I didn't ask for your permission for translating this drabble, but I did (and I hope you won't kill me for that). You can find the translated version over there: http://forum.mirriel.net/viewtopic.php?t=10247. It includes also the bellatrix/narcissa drabble and I intend to translate your other fics, like drabble blaise/harry. I hope it's ok with you. Btw, I'd like to say that your talent is amazing and your fics really good :))
