Ahaha. The good bits so aren't mine -- I really love the reworked beginning and premise, actually, and I think those are the best bits of the whole piece, and those are completely yours.

The history lesson mingled with (fan)fiction that you present here is like an orgasm for me. Lovely, per usual, although you never cease to amaze me with your brilliance. If only all European history coule be taught to us through Tom's eyes.
