Happy 29th to my eldest Son
you made your Ma a very proud but old feeling woman
I spoke to him earlier and he's had a good celebratory day and is continuing it with his wonderful girlfriend who is taking him to see Macho Libre tonight ( we all love silly films)
He is also having a drink tomorrow with his old friend with whom he has been through school and three years of college and has just announced that he and his wife are having their first baby in December. All of which is freaking out eldest a bit because he is the same age and nowhere near feeling like doing that yet. Take your time hun - I'll be a granny if and when you or your brothers are ready and not before;-)
I'm also really chuffed to say that after a 24 hour Blood Pressure monitoring I have a printout that confirms what I've known all along. I am a "whitecoat hypertensive" i.e the very sight of the B.P aparatus at the doc's can and does send my B.P skywards. Trouble is that the G.P tends to medicate on that evidence alone whereas I now have had two of these 24 hour tests that beg to differ. So I will see him next week to discuss where we go from here. I am aware that these readings were done with me still taking my meds so I'm not saying I should not be on any but I reckon we could maybe go for a gradual reduction (we have had tentative discussions in the past about this)
To be fair to him he has started to come round to the idea himself & it was he who suggested we did the second test. Mind you I had begun to avoid my appointments where possible & he could see I was becoming phobic about the whole process - but this is more progress than I've had to date on this issue so credit where it's due.
I'm surprised that waking up to the fact that I have a 29 year old son did not send my B.P rocketing but hey I'm not complaining on either front :-)
An interesting aside - my only vaguely high reading yesterday coincided with Mr P arriving home from work -
What can I say?
