I just got back from my Black Woman class. The class ran longer than its supposed to because we spent the whole time talking about the oral reports given on abortion and birth control. Part of it made me want the throw up - (the part where she was describing the actual abortion procedures - pliers, ripping and piecing bodies back together, sucking out brains and peeing out parts) and the other parts made me mad. The fact is we do have education and the government to blame. Kids are taught sex is bad and they don't use protection so we've got abortions all over the place. I know my mom never spoke to me about anything, so I should really talk to my sisters. I love how in this class everyone speaks up and tells stories or gives their opinions and its not boring or annoying...like in Psych of Women. No one droned on today. Some people said that you should have abortions if you know your baby is going to have some sort of illness. Others shot that idea right down. Abortion was compared to the holocaust and slavery. A lot of girls said that when they got their periods their moms sat them down and said 'the condoms are in that drawer, and here's how you use them.' They were talking about all these women they know who have died from blood clots or smoking while on birth control. Holy crap I'm adopting. When I'm 80. How much does it cost to get these tubes tied?
